    • Wish you were here – featuring S’more Fun by The Greeting Farm

Posted at 7:00 am by Christine Patterson
      Jul 31st

Hello Everyone! Christine with Pattercrafts here with a fun scene card using only the S’more Fun stamp set and markers. I think this is one of my first attempts at only using copics to color in an entire front panel of a card.

To start this card I stamped out all the images onto a piece of Inkadinkadoo Stamp Masking Paper. Then I fussy cut all the images. I placed the images on my card panel where I thought I would want them to be. Then I stamped the front images first with Gina K Designs Amalgam Black Ink.

Once the images were stamped, I put the masking paper on so I could color the ground and sky without worry of getting my images marked. After, I had the great fun of pulling the masks off – that truly is the BEST part!! Then I colored the images.

I put everything aside to dry a little then when I came back I heat embossed the sentiment “Wish you were here” with white embossing powder and cut a circle above my little camper where his thought bubble of his friend was planned to be on the card. I stamped and colored the girl image right on the card base.

To finish the card I added a few smaller thought bubbles up to the circle. I chose a circle because the image fit entirely in it without being too big for the A2 size card.

Thank you all so much for joining me today. If you’d like to see how I created and colored the card – CLICK HERE to be taken to the Scrapping for Less YouTube channel!

I hope you enjoy and get inspired!

    • The Greeting Farm ~ Happy to Sea You… Again!

Posted at 9:00 am by Crystal O. Minkler
      Jun 21st

Hello crafty friends! Crystal here with another couple of cards using the Happy to Sea You stamp set by The Greeting Farm. I just adore this set and had to ink it up again!

For my cards today, I went with a non-traditional fold. The base of the card is an A2 size measuring at 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ but the fold is actually the circle where the focal image is placed.

The base is simple with just white card stock with a layer of Watercolor Wishes paper by Lawn Fawn that I die cut with the Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics by My Favorite Things. I then die cut a piece of white card stock that I had scored and folded with the Wonky Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics, also by My Favorite Things. I ran it through my Big Shot a few times to get a really good cut through both layers of the folded card stock. I adhered the circle folded piece to the base and then stamped the sentiments.

Then I started stamping and coloring all the images… I stamped the images with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored with the following Copic markers:

      Whale ~ BG10, BG23

      Coral ~ R12, R22

      Seaweed ~ YG01, YG23

      Jellyfish ~ RV63, RV66, Colorless Blender

      Clam ~ BV000, BV00, BV13, RV63, RV66, RV91

      Sand ~ E33, E55

I adhered the fussy cut images to build my scenes… popping up the whale and the jellyfish. To finish off my cards for today I added some drops of the beautiful Fairy Wings Nuvo Dream Drops in the sand at the bottom of the scene… I think it looks like pretty pearls in the sand. So fun!

I just adore this sweet set… if you’d like to see the other cards I made using this set, you can see them here —> Happy to Sea You cards.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog post!

      See ya next time.

      Inky Hugs,

      Crystal

    • The Greeting Farm ~ Happy to Sea You!

      Jun 15th

      Hello crafty friends!

Crystal here with two fun cards using the adorable Happy to Sea You set by The Greeting Farm and I’ve paired it with the beautiful Watercolor Wishes paper by Lawn Fawn!!

I love how easy it is to make a card using these beautiful papers for your background! They are so beautiful and all I needed to do was run them through the Big Shot with a fun die to create my background. For the cards I’m sharing today, I used the Stitched Circle Plate Background die by Gina Marie Designs. I die cut it four times… twice for the two patterned papers and then with white card stock and kraft card stock.

Once I had that done, I set it aside and stamped my sea creatures… oh my goodness… this set of sea creatures just might be my favorite!! The turtle… love! And that seahorse… adore!! I sure had a blast coloring all the images!!

I used the following Copic markers to color the images:

      Turtle ~ G12, G24, G28, BG10, BG23

      Whale ~ B21, B23, B26, T1

      Clam ~ RV63, RV91, N0, N1, N3, R00

      Seahorse ~ G12, G24, YG01

      Jellyfish ~ RV91, V04, V12

      Octopus ~ V04, BV000, BV00, BV04, BV13

      Starfish ~ YR15, YR16, R12

      Shark ~ N0, N1, N3

      Seaweed ~ YG01, YG23

      Coral ~ R12, R22

Once I had them all colored, I fussy cut them out as close to the black line as possible and then colored the edges with my Memento tuxedo black marker. That’s a great way to make the edges look nice and clean. And then the fun part of building my scenes… so fun! On both cards, I wanted a creature to look like he was swimming through the circle so I used the whale on my first card and the shark on the second. I think it gives dimension to the card even though all the layers are adhered together. Yup… you read that right. I didn’t pop up any of the images!! Lol!

But I did pop up the sentiments!!! I just love how these turned out! I hope I’ve inspired you to create a fun scene using pretty papers and cute stamps! Both items I’ve featured today are in stock in the SFL shop!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my blog!

      See ya next time.

      Inky Hugs,

      Crystal

Hi Everyone!  It’s Luci from “My Crazy Craft Life” with Center Box Pop Out or Pop Up Card!  I am so happy with how this turned out!  Be sure to check out the video for all the details, dimensions, and tips I learned along the way HERE!  For this project I used The Greeting Farm “Hands Down” and Sunny Studio “Magical Mermaids” stamp sets.  I stamped the images with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and I used  Tsukineko Jet Black to stamp the glasses from the Hands Down set on to Acetate, and Copic colored all of the images. The cardstock was from my stash.

    • January 2019 FOTM Card Kit ~ Let’s Do Coffee!

Posted at 1:00 pm by Crystal O. Minkler
      Feb 11th

Hello there! Crystal here with a bonus post today! I just had to revisit the January 2019 Flavor of the Month card kit to make a couple more coffee themed cards for my stash. I’m not sure if I admitted this yet, but I believe that Brew It, Anya just may be my favorite stamp in this kit… very closely followed by the sweet Melting Snowman stamp set in the Banana Split subscription. But for today’s post, I have created two cards using Brew It, Anya… both using the same sketch.

Since I was using my favorite stamp from the kit, I thought it only natural to use my favorite paper… Coffee Time by Scrapping for Less from Collection One. I can’t get enough of this paper and I was excited to find that it’s available in the store right here —> A La Carte . I cut the necessary pieces for my cards and adhered them to white card bases from my stash.

I then searched through my leftover pieces of card stock from the kit to stamp Anya onto. I chose Whip Cream and Sno Cone card stock. I die cut her out using a scalloped circle die and then die cut the image again with a circle die (cutting out the center of the circle that I popped up on the cards). I stamped Anya again (twice) on Neenah 110# Classic Crest Smooth Solar White card stock included in the kit. For my first card, I kept Anya neutral to coordinate with the colors in the papers.

I colored my first Anya card with the following Copic markers:

      Skin ~ E000, E00, R20

      Hair ~ E41, E42

      Clothes ~ E43, E44, E47, E49

      Cup ~ E44, E47, E49

For my second card, I tried to use similar colors to the paper so I added some blue to this one.

I colored in my second Anya with the following Copic markers:

       Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E13

      Hair ~ E41, E42

      Clothes ~ E44, E47, E49, B000, B00, BG0000, BG000, BG10

      Cup ~ E43, E44, E47, E49

As I mentioned earlier, I popped up the circle portion of the main image using foam tape and then I adhered the scallop with just a little bit of liquid glue. I love the dimension this gives to the focal image! I found a couple different sentiments in the kit to use for each card. I stamped them and then die cut them out using a banner die. I also popped the sentiments up on the card using foam tape.

To finish off the cards, I added some glossy accents (from my stash) to the little bear barrettes and also added some sequins from Collection One. And that’s it! A couple more cards using the fabulous January 2019 Perk Up and Start the New Year Card Kit!

I love this kit so much! There’s still a few card kits available… get yours before they’re all gone!!

Thank you friends for checking out my blog post!

      See ya next time.

    • No-Line Copic Coloring with the FOTM Kit

      Feb 2nd

Hey guys.  I can’t seem to get enough of the stamp set by The Greeting Farm from the latest Flavor of the Month Kit.

I decided to try some no-line coloring with the image this time.  I stamped the image onto Neenah Solar White card stock with a light colored ink and colored it with my Copic Markers.  I used a Copic safe pen to draw in her eyes and mouth and created a shadow under her.  I used some of the pattern paper to create a border of the left side of the card and adhered everything together.  Nice and simple.

No-line coloring can be sooo scary but I have been practicing a lot and I am really loving the look of it!

I hope you will give it a try.  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a creative and crafty day!

    • The Greeting Farm ~ Save the Day

Posted at 9:00 am by Crystal O. Minkler
      Dec 21st

Hello! Crystal here sharing a Valentine’s Day card using The Greeting Farm’s Save the Day stamp set. I don’t know about you all but I needed a little break from the Christmas card making… don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas and I love making Christmas cards, but I needed a little creative break. So when I saw this sweet set I knew I was going to use it to make a Valentine’s Day card for my husband. He’s my hero!

I had a rough idea for my design but believe it or not… it was supposed to be a no layer card. LOL! Isn’t it funny how sometimes the card just evolves into something you didn’t quite plan?! Well, that was the case with this one. I started with the Stitched Arch Stax dies from My Favorite Things. I die cut the white and the black layers and then decided I wanted to have red in the mix since it’s a Valentine, that only made sense… so I thought a red card base would be good. And then on my desk I saw the new Polka Heart Backdrop die from Lawn Fawn… of course, I had to use it! I used it to die cut a white piece of card stock that I trimmed down and adhered to the red card base.

That turned out to be too much white in the background so to break that up I found some papers from my stash with a Valentine’s theme and trimmed them down. I adhered it to a piece of red card stock and then used a stitched scalloped edge die on both sides of the patterned paper. I adhered this panel to the card base and set it aside.

Using a grassy edge stencil, I blended some Mowed Lawn distress ink for the grass on the bottom of the first layer. I then used a mini cloud edge stencil with Tumbled Glass distress ink to create some clouds in the background. I set that piece aside and stamped the images using Memento tuxedo black ink. I then colored them in using the following Copic markers:

      Trees ~ G05, G17, G24

      Knight ~ C0, C2, C4, C8, R000, R37, R89, E55, E57, E59

      Lady ~ E0000, E000, E00, E55, E57, E59, R000, R14, R20, R27

I fussy cut each of them out along the black lines and then went over the edges of the images using a Memento tuxedo marker (that helps to clean up the edges). I decided the Lady needed a little glittery goodness on her dress so I added some Sprinkled Sugar Stickles to the image. I just love how the ombre coloring of her dress looks with the beautiful glitter on it. I adhered the images to create the scene and then popped up the arch panel on the card. I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark watermark ink on a scrap of red card stock and then heat embossed fine white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and then adhered it to the card using foam tape on the left side and liquid glue on the right since it would lay over the popped up arch.

Here’s a close-up look at the glittery goodness on the Lady’s dress. Love it!

Well, that’s it for me. I hope that you enjoyed my first Valentine’s Day card for the coming year!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

      See ya next time.

      Inky Hugs,

      ~ Crystal
