    • Playing with Fall Kiddos from Sunny Studios

      Hi All!

Kim here with one of the sweetest stamp sets from Sunny Studio Stamps, Fall Kiddos. I had so much fun coloring up these little guys and gals. I stamped out all the images using Lawn Fawn ink in jet black which is alcohol marker friendly. Then I got busy coloring with my Copics.

I wanted them to be playing outside so I got some Distress Oxide Inks in tumbled glass & salty ocean for the sky and mowed lawn and crushed olive for the grass. I wanted it to look as though it could be just the very early days of Fall and the summer is coming to a close.

I really thought all of my characters were going to go on the card until I started putting everyone in place and realized that just wouldn’t work unless I made them stand on each other and they needed room to jump and throw leaves! I picked out a few for this card and set my other little kiddos aside for another time. Once I got knew where I wanted them to go I was able to position my sentiment which I then stamped in Versafine Ink black onyx, used clear embossing powder on and heat set. (I even remembered to use powder buddy so the embossing powder wouldn’t stick where I didn’t want it, go me!)

It needed one more thing so I got out the fluffy cloud dies from Sunny Studio Stamps, cut out some clouds, inked them up just a bit with tumbled glass distress oxide ink and my sky came together. Added some bling with a Spectrum Noir sparkle marker in clear and adhered it to a card base using Lawn Fawn glue tube.Ā

I just love the sentiment on this card from the Fall Kiddos stamp set and completely agree that playing is NEVER wasted time.

Thank you so much for stopping in and spending some time with us today. I hope you are able to find some time to play today.

    • You are Always on my Mind Card featuring Newton’s Nook Stamps

Hi, It’s Stacy from Craftaholicmomma up on the Scrapping for Less blog today with a super cute card featuring a Newton’s Nook stamp set called “Bird Bath”.Ā  It has been very gloomy and rainy for the past two days here in Minnesota.Ā  I thought this cheerful spring card would help brighten up these dreary fall days.

I stamped the images with my Copic friendly MFT Extreme Black ink cube. I then colored the images with my Copic markers and cut it out using my Brother Scan n Cut.Ā  I took two of the MFT Stitched A2 Rectangle dies and cut out a frame to adhere onto my card over a panel of Doodlebug Designs Blue Jean Sprinkles Vellum.Ā  I love working with this vellum as it has just the right amount of glossy embossing to it.Ā  I used my Lawn Fawn Grassy Borders die to cut two strips of green pattern paper from the Doodlebug Designs “Spring Things” 6x6 paper pad.Ā  This paper pad is my all time favorite collection from Doodlebug.Ā  (oh, ok, to be honest it’s a strong tie between Spring Things and Polar Pals).Ā  I stamped the sentiment in the lower righthand corner in VersaFine Black Onyx ink.Ā  To finish off the card I went over the birds and butterflies with my Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Brush Pens.Ā  Using Ranger’s Glossy Accents on the water in the bird bath helps make the water look realistically like water.

      Thanks for visiting,
