    • Happy Camper from SFL and Art Impressions

      Jul 30th

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here and let me say this month of projects with Scrapping For Less is really making me miss our camper. Thinking we are going to have to replace it in the next couple years. Camping has always been so fun for us, and the highlight of our weeks when we could escape for a couple days and just sit around and do nothing.

      picsart_07-05-08.34.02

SO… using Art Impressions “Happy Camper” Tryfold Stamp and Die set, I put this card together. While thinking about the good old days.

      picsart_07-05-03.38.17

First I stamped out my images using MFT Extreme Black Ink. I then Used my Scan n Cut to cut the images out. I then used alcohol markers to color everything up.

      picsart_07-05-03.37.02

Once everything was colored, I took a sheet of cardstock 4.25″ x 11″ and scored on the 3 5/8″ from each side to make my card base. Then it was off to my Vagabond machine with the two dies that came in the kit. The first die cut the back window of the camper, and left a hinge section at the top. I cut this same through the base as well, I removed the hinged section from the card base.

      picsart_07-05-03.35.10

Now the camper we had, was completely camo colors on the inside. So I had to color this one the same way. The second die in the set cuts out the tent shape area in this next panel.

      preview-2

Once the card is completely open, you see the sentiment, and the cute little sleeping pup up on the bed. Exactly where my little guy Harley loved to be.

I hope you have enjoyed this project as much as I loved sharing it with you.

    • SFL and Lawn Fawn… Wish Upon A Star

Posted at 8:00 am by LeeAnn McKinney
      Jul 16th

Greetings friends and fellow crafters, It’s LeeAnn with another post with Scrapping For Less. This time I have used the Lawn Fawn stamp set “Upon A Star” along with the Interactive Reveal Wheel Square Add On die set, Gold Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink and the PhotoPlay 6″x6″ paper pad Campfire & Lakeside.

      preview-3

I really had so much fun with this project. I have had the reveal wheel since it first came out, and have not used it, just waiting for the right time, and this was exactly the project I was waiting for.

      picsart_07-05-08.14.09

First using white cardstock I cut the card base, the wheel  heart frame and the little arrow. I cut the night sky panel using the square reveal wheel die, and heat embossed using Gold embossing powder the Wish and the Heart of Stars.

      picsart_07-05-08.12.58

I stamped and cut the two little critters and colored them with alcohol markers, and using some scraps from the paper pad decided to make the grassy panel and then a blanket for the critters to sit upon.picsart_07-05-08.11.50

After figuring out how I wanted the sentiment in the window I stamped the open stars, then Upon, closed stars then A Star and heat embossed them. It does appear I need to use a little more of that embossing buddy to get a cleaner embossing.picsart_07-05-08.10.35

I hope you have enjoyed this project as much as I have enjoyed bringing it to you.

Have a great day and see ya back next week with my FOTM Sneak Peek project, and I had a lot of fun with it as well. Let me tell you, each month the kits are getting better and better and I am really excited about this one.

    • Camping Time is Here, with SFL and PhotoPlay

      Jul 10th

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. It’s LeeAnn and I am so excited for this month with Scrapping For Less. All of these cards were made using the 6″x6″ Campfire and Riverside paper pad by PhotoPlay.

For this first card it gives every reason I love going camping. I really miss the days we would join the family out at the camp in the Florida Everglades and have fun all weekend without a care about what was back at home. Campfires that we kept running all day and night, swamp buggy and four wheeler rides out to the middle of the field to check out the stars. preview

My husband said this is his favorite card of the three. Canoeing is so much fun and I personally can’t wait until the water is high enough to be able to go to down the river on a 4 hour float.
      picsart_07-04-12.17.45

This card was fun, easy and yet took a bit of time. I used background paper from the same PhotoPlay Campfire and Riverside 6″x6″ paper pack, however I also used the Echo Park Night Sky Stencil, and NUVO Embellishment Mousse in Gunmetal. Using a palette knife I spread the Mousse over the stencil, I then removed the stencil and let the panel dry while going to wash up the stencil and palette knife. My night sky panel is mounted on silver mirror paper on a white card base. The sentiment panel is also mounted on silver mirror paper and white panel beneath that.

      Jun 30th

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here with one more project for June with Scrapping For Less.

      picsart_06-26-06.03.57

Today I used the Stampedous Stamp set Turtle Fun. I stamped the image using MFT Extreme Black Ink and colored with alcohol markers. I used a set of The Paper Cut dies from my stash to cut out the panels, and the center pale blue panel is from the Lawn Fawn Watercolor 6″x6″ paper pad. I used Cornflower and Soft Sky Inks from Hero Arts to blend the background on my main panel.

I used Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops for the eyes, and Limoncello Nuvo Jewel Drops on the portholes on the ship. I used Crystal Stickles from my stash for the air bubbles.

      Jun 27th

Good Morning and Happy Thursday fellow crafters!

Katie here from 2CraftyKaties to share a sneak from the June 2019 Flavor of the Month kit!

I used the stamps and paper from collection 3.

When I saw the otters and then the sentiment I instantly thought of Yin and Yang!  So, I VERY carefully stamped them together and used my scan and cut to get this image!  I used the following copic markers on the otters and in the space between them (I didn’t want the white space to be a focal point); BG23, E11, E25, E33, E35.

The layout was inspired by this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #509:

    • Newton’s Nook Designs and Stampendous

      Jun 23rd

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!  Katie here from 2CrafyKaties to share with you TWO different cards using Newton’s Nook Designs “Vitamin Sea” stamp set & “Seashells” stencil and Stampendous “Cling Jellyfish” stamp !

First I have a set of six cards using Newton’s Nook Designs “Vitamin Sea” stamp set & “Seashells” stencil.

       Here is what I created:

These first 6 cards were inspired by video that Jennifer McGuire posted about a week ago.  I used my Gina K 3.5”x 3.5” wreath builder template with the Ranger Distress Oxide inks and stenciled the corners of the cards.  Next, I cut paper 3.75”x 3.75” and shaded the outside edges.  Lastly, I cut 4”x 8” cardstock for my card base.  I LOVE this technique that Jennifer shared with us in her video.  I am looking forward to using this technique in the future.

      Here is what I used:

      Scrapping for Less

Newton’s Nook Designs – “Vitamin Sea” stamp set

Newton’s Nook Designs – “Seashells” stencil

Ranger – Distress Oxide “Tumbled Glass” ink

Ranger – Distress Oxide “Carved Pumpkin” ink

Ranger Distress Ink – “Peeled Paint”, “Stormy Sky”, “Tea Dye”, & “Seedless Preserves”

Nuvo Glitter Drops – “White Blizzard”

      Gina K “Wreath Builder” template

My next card I struggled with.  I just wasn’t sure how I was going to put it together.  I started by stamping out the “Cling Jellyfish” from Stampendous and using my Scan n’ Cut to cut it out.  I then took the “Tumbled Glass” Distress Oxide ink and shaded the whole the jellyfish.  Then, I took the “Carved Pumpkin” and pressed the ink pad into an acrylic block to use as a paint pallet.  I then painted the jelly fish in “Carved Pumpkin” and highlighted the circles with the “White Blizzard” Nuvo Glitter Drops.  I then cut a card base 4”x 5.25” and “double stamped or 2nd generation stamping” the jellyfish (inking the image and stamping once on scrap paper and then stamping a second time on the card base).  Lastly, I cut a card base 4.25”x 5.5” and shaded with the “Carved Pumpkin” Distress Oxide ink.  Once all of this was done, I used foam squares to pop the jelly fish and assembled the card.

      Here is what I created:

      Here is what I used:

      Scrapping for Less

      Stampendous – “Cling Jellyfish” stamp

Ranger – Distress Oxide “Tumbled Glass” ink

Ranger – Distress Oxide “Carved Pumpkin” ink

Nuvo Glitter Drops – “White Blizzard”

      Jun 14th

Greetings friends and fellow crafters, LeeAnn here with my project using Stampendous Stamp set called “Turtle Fun“. Let me just say after the few days we spent at the beach last week, having manatee’s come up and swim right by us, the only thing I had told my husband I was missing was some turtles, so when I found that I was getting to work with this set, I was so happy.

      PicsArt_06-12-06.44.27

PicsArt_06-12-06.42.45To make this card, the main blue panel is from a Lawn Fawn 6×6 paper pad called Watercolor Wishes, first I stamped the image twice, one I cut the images apart using my Scan n Cut and the other I used a combination of Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch that was still on my blending brush from a past project to blend the ocean water at the top of the panel. I then used my Radiating Rays stencils from MFT and the same blend again to create the image of the sunlight shining down into the water.

I used alcohol markers to color my images and foam tape to pop them up over their corresponding parts on the main card panel to add a 3D effect. I used Morning Dew Nuvo drops on the yes and lights on the ship, and White Blizzard Nuvo drops in the air bubbles.

Once all this was complete, I used a Spellbinders Die to make this pop up slider effect, which is where I used more of the Oxide ink blend, and stamped the sentiment. Once the recipient pulls the twine on the top, the card panel will slide up, and the sentiment will be revealed. Had I used thicker foam tape to attach the top panel to the base, I wold have been able to include a gift card under the panel as well.

      Jun 6th

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. It’s LeeAnn and I am here today with my first post for Scrapping For Less in for June 2019. I had so much fun while making this card, using Avery Elle’s “Sea-Prise” stamp set and I hope you enjoy it.

      picsart_06-02-11.22.27-1

To start off I used Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxides to make my cover layer. I used an MFT Stencil (Make Waves) to create the scene. Once dry, I spritzed on some water to help with the look.

I then stamped the schools of fish using the Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide. I stamped the Shark and Pufferfish using GinaK Amalgam Black Ink, and stamped the sentiment with the same. I cut out my images with the Scan N Cut and colored with Artist Loft Alcohol Markers.

My layers were put together using GinaK Connect Glue. I love the ease of use for this little bottle.
