Hi Everyone! Luci here from My Crazy Craft Life and today I have a Fun Fold Card that’s perfect for using up all the scraps from your July 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit!
Be sure to check out the video HERE for the details!
I have always wanted to make one of these cards but always felt intimidated! Let me tell you I couldn’t have been more wrong, this card was super fast and easy to make- 4 score lines and 2 cuts and you’re off! Plus it’s a great way to use up scraps!
Here are the measurements for the card and pieces.
I made 5 cards. I used the SFL Sketch #7, the slimline card sketch to make my first 2 cards.
I embellished the first card with the Tropic Vibes ephemera and the 2nd with the toucan from the Tropic Vibes stamp set. Both sentiments were from this stamp set as well.
I also used the Scrapping for Less Flavor of the Month Card Sketch:
I changed my design from the sketch just a little bit by using less strips and making them thinner. I also used the Scrapping for Less Mod Die set that came in the Banana Split level of the kit. This card turned out to be my favorite!!
I switched to some non-card projects. I made 2 nail file/emory board holders. These would be cute gifts or craft show items! This idea came from the Papered Chef.
I cut the patterned paper to 3.5×6 inches. Then I scored them at 1 inch, 1.25 inches, 2.25 inches and 2.5 inches. Once you fold up the score lines, you just glue the 2 flaps together. Then pinch the bottom ends together and glue.
I embellished both holders with some of the cute flamingo ephemera from the collection. The emory boards are from Amazon.
The next little projects I made were some mini post it note holders:
This design is from Inspired by Gram. For these, I cut my patterned paper to 2 1/4 x 5 inches. I scored them at 1 1/8 inches, 1 1/2 inches, 3 1/8 inches and 3 1/2 inches. Once you get them folded up, you can add your mini post it note pads (unfortunately, I didn’t realize I was out of them before making these). Once I add the post it note pad to the inside, I would add some small adhesive velcro strips to the the flaps to keep them closed.
I embellished the pads with the small flowers and sentiment from the Tropic Vibes stamp set.
After this, I was working with scraps on some final cards. I used a flamingo that I had stamped and watercolored in a previous session. I matted my pattern papers with black cardstock from my stash and put them directly onto my white cardbase. I embellished around the layout with some Blushing Red Nuvo Drops.
And here is my final card:
I decided to use the pineapple stencil that came in the Banana Split collection to create a background on my cardbase. I used Scattered Straw Distress Ink to color the body of the pineapples and Mowed Lawn to color the tops. I pieced together some of the scraps I had left and layered a piece of pineapple ephemera and sentiment on top.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my projects today! I hope you got some inspiration! I had so much fun with these!
Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie sharing the August challenge for the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group! This month’s challenge is another sketch challenge. We had a great turn out for our July sketch challenge and I’m really hoping that this fun slimline sketch will also make for lots of entries in our August challenge!

Unfortunately, I hurt my back the other day and I am having a slow go at creating right now so I’m sharing the card that I created for the hop. I do hope to share another card at a later time though.
I had a lot of fun blending the skies for this card. I may do a video and share some tips in how I kept the scenes in place throughout each circle. But that will be later in the month. Anywho, this challenge will run from today, August 1st and will end August 31st at 11:59pm EDT. The winner will be announced in the comments of the Challenge album on Tuesday, September 1st. Please use #sflsketchchallenge7 in any social media posts when playing along with the challenge.
Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with one last look at the June 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit called A Walk in the Park. Today I have a couple cards to share to wrap up my inspiration for the June 2020 card kit.
My first card using the adorable ephemera from the Picnic Time collection and the fun papers. This was such a quick card once I decided on which papers to use together.
My second card for today uses a few different papers from the cute On the Playground collection. I had some longer scraps of the On the Playground papers and thought they would be fun together. I adhered all of them to a lightweight white card stock that measures 4 x 5-1/4″. I actually stamped the slide twice… once on the ombre blue patterned paper and again on a scrap piece of white card stock. After I colored the slide, I fussy cut it and cleaned up the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I didn’t fussy cut in between the steps on the slide… I actually just colored that space with a copic marker. I popped up the focal piece with foam squares and tied the green twine around the panel. I then adhered the panel to the white card base with Tombow Mono Multipurpose liquid glue. I added a few sequins to finish off this second card.
I used the following Copic markers to color this card ~ R000, R14, R27, Y000, Y06, Y15, B000.
I hope that you’ve liked my last share for the June 2020 FOTM card kit!! I’ll be back tomorrow with inspiration for the new August 2020 Sketch Challenge for the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share Facebook group.
Hello, it’s Stacy from Craftaholicmomma up today on the Scrapping for Less blog with two inspiration cards featuring the new Mod Dies that are in the July Flavor of the Month Card Kit.
This die set is a staple in your craft room. I designed the die set to work with both the June FOTM Card Kit and the July FOTM Card Kit. The wonky shaped oval is perfect as a lily pad for the frogs in the Pond Life Collection in the June kit.
It is also perfect to use as an island for the palm tree beach stamp from the In the Tropics Collection in the July kit.
Hi, guys, it’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today! I made a fun 12×12 scrapbook page from the Scrapping for Less new summer release, the Summer Floaties collection! There is a coordinating 6×6 paper pack and stamp set. How cute is this collection???
When I saw the “Summer Girl” stamp in the stamp set, I knew I wanted to make a scrapbook page with this collection! So I pieced together some of the blue pool patterns from the paper pad to go behind my pictures. Then I used the stamp set and images from the pattern paper to make my embellishments.
I stamped “summer girl”, “pool time” and the little girl with the donut floatie from the stamp set. I used pink embossing powder from a recent Flavor of the Month Kit to emboss and add color to the “summer girl” sentiment. I used some alcohol markers to color in the image of the little girl. Then I fussy cut out some of the popsicles and pineapples to use as embellishments. I did pull in a piece of paper from the Summer Ombre paper pad, to punch circles from to back my images.
I really enjoyed making this page! You can watch the full process video HERE.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed seeing this collection in action!
Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with one last look at the beautiful new July 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit called In the Tropics!! This kit is full of all things summer… it’s absolutely beautiful!!
I used Collection Four for my sneak peek for today! This silhouette palm tree just screamed for some fun ink blending to make a little a scene! I pulled colors from the papers that I chose from the collection to ink blend in the scene: Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks.
To finish off this pretty simple card, I added a couple of the flowers from the collection along with a sequin for the center. I think it turned out lovely!
Be sure to sign up for your card kit, if you haven’t already! You are not going to want to miss out on this one!! And don’t forget to come back for the reveal and hop tonight at midnight EDT!!
