Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with my sneak peek of the absolutely wonderful new October 2020 FOTM Card Kit called Christmas is Covered! Ohhh… the Christmas kit is always my favorite! So many beautiful papers and stamps! Let’s get to my sneak…
I used the beautiful stamps and papers from Collection One. I adore cardinals for Christmas cards and this sweet cardinal with the holly and berries was just calling my name as soon as I saw it!
And the papers… wow! I’m always blown away by the beautiful papers Teresa includes in the kits! Now the tag that I used for the focal image is a part of the Banana Split subscription… a definite must for making holiday tags this Christmas!! I added a pretty bow and a couple of enamel dots to finish off this adorable card! You can check out my process video here…
And I have a separate video to share my coloring of the focal image on my Tawny Owl Paperie YouTube Channel. You can check that out here…
Be sure to head back to the SFL blog tonight at midnight for the reveal of the entire kit and the hop with the Design Team and guests! I’m so excited to see all the fabulous creations!! But don’t wait… go snatch up your card kit to ensure you get one! You do not want to miss out on this one!
Kim here from Cardmaking Blonde, I am so glad you could stop in for a quick peek at what is in store for this month’s Flavor of the Month card kit. The papers create a perfect starry night and this little snowman looks like he’s definitely making a wish.
After stamping the image out in Gina K. black amalgam ink I colored it in with Copic markers doing my best to create a night sky. I colored over the stars in the image because I knew I wanted to use the stars from the sequin collection I received in the collection to place where the stamped stars are. Finished the card off with one of the sentiments from the stamp set stamping it in VersaFine majestic blue ink.
I am so looking forward to seeing the rest of the cards/projects that the design team comes up with using this month’s card kit! Make sure to join us this weekend for the full hop and thanks again for stopping in.
Happy Monday everyone! Today I’m sharing with you ingredients from Collection 1 in the October 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit! I’ve stamped out one of the images from the stamp set and colored with Copic Markers. I die cut that with a circle die and cut a mat from red card stock with a mini scallop circle die. This piece of pattern paper from Collection 1, I needed to cut in half in order to to get the birdhouses fully on the card. I used some ribbon from the collection to hide where the 2 pieces meet. I stamped the “Happy Holidays” sentiment from the stamp set with Versamark ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set it. I trimmed that with my paper trimmer and scissors. The sentiment was then added to the card with foam adhesive. I finished the card by adding some Spectrum Noir Glitter brush to the cardinal and scattered on a few enamel dots from the collection.
Stay tuned all week for more Sneak Peeks and the full reveal is 12:00am on Saturday, October 31, 2020.
Kim here from Cardmaking Blonde bringing you a card made using one of the cutest encouraging stamp sets I’ve ever used! “Balloon Ride” from Paperie Ink has several critters to choose from and enough hot air balloons to do a little balloon like I did or to do an entire scene.
Here’s how this card came together:

I really enjoyed using this stamp set, I always know I have my hands on a good stamp set when as I am working with it for one card I already begin thinking of what I want to do with it for my next card.
Thank you for joining me today on the blog and taking a closer look at Paperie Ink’s “Balloon Ride.” I hope you get any encouragement you may be needing today and also take a minute to encourage another.
Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie and today I’m sharing a few Summer themed memory dex cards that I’ve created for my spinner to keep track of the birthdays in my life, be it family or friend. I’ve been struggling this year with sending out birthday cards… not sure if it’s just a 2020 thing, but I got to thinking that it sure would be handy to have a way to keep track of those birthdays in a more efficient way.
So I happened to have some Summer themed papers on my desk and I got to thinking that I’d just start with those!! I also had the new fabulous Barn Create-A-Dex die on my desk… so naturally, I used it!! I started by die cutting the stitched barn die from the pretty papers. I used a piece from the Strawberry Fields paper pad, the Rustic Watermelon paper pad, and the Golden Beach paper pad. And then I also pulled out my ephemera pieces… Strawberry Fields ephemera and Rustic Watermelon ephemera (looks like that is sold out). I didn’t have any Golden Beach ephemera so I just cut a bunch of images out of two different patterned papers. I just love how easy these cards came together.
Let’s have a closer look…
I used a red card stock from my stash for the memory dex card base. I adhered the beautiful Strawberry Field patterned paper that I had die cut with the stitched barn die. Then I adhered the leaves and jam jar ephemera pieces. I popped up the strawberry ephemera piece with foam squares and then I just trimmed June from an old calendar set that I had from a couple of years ago. I mat it on the same red card stock and adhered it to the card. I wanted to add a bit of ribbon and decided to just punch a couple holes in the card and tie the bow through there… it was pretty easy. I’m going to die cut another piece of red card stock with the base die and adhere it to the back just to make the whole card a little more stable.
I also added a little Nuvo aqua shimmer to the strawberry ephemera piece. You can see a little bit of the sparkle in this photo.
For my July memory dex card, I die cut a base of black card stock and then adhered the pretty Rustic Watermelon patterned paper. I also die cut the red heart from that same paper (it’s the other side of the double sided patterned paper). I covered up the black hole with the cute ephemera pieces and the red patterned paper heart. I also punched a couple holes in the card and added a bit of white baker’s twine. And to finish this one off, I added a few white enamel dots… oh, and a little sparkle to the watermelon slice in the gnomes hand with the Nuvo aqua shimmer pen. I’m also going make this one a bit more sturdy by die cutting another black base.
And my last card… which just may be my favorite! My base for this one uses my all time favorite card stock… Tempting Turquoise. I adhered the pretty star fish patterned paper from the Golden Beach paper pad to the base and adhered the bikini, life preserver, and sunblock bottle directly to the card. I then popped up the flip flops and seashell. I mat ‘August’ with the same turquoise card stock and adhered it to the card.
I also added some shimmer to the flip flops and the seashell. I wish it showed up better in the photos. So now I have three memory dex cards done!! Woo hoo! I think I’ll do the Fall months using papers from the September 2020 FOTM Card Kit Orchards & Patches. I’ll try to remember to share them in the Scrapping for Less: Show & Share group. Well, that’s it for me this week! I’ll see you next Friday for my sneak peek of the new October kit!! You are going to love love love it!!
The patterns in this collection are so beautiful they don’t need a whole lot of extras. They’re stunning enough on their own.
I used a sentiment stamp set by The Greeting Farm and various sizes of EK Success Circle punches, both from my stash. The glitter strip is a peel off from Love From Lizi, also from my stash. Tangy Orange Cardstock from Scrapping for Less layers the pattern papers beautifully.
