2019 Scrapping for Less Art Impressions Card THUMB 04

Hello everyone! Jackie here from Jackie’s Craft Table. I hope you’re all having a fun holiday season! I’m taking a break from Holiday Card crafting to create a fabulous friendship card!

The stamp set I’m using is called Girlfriends from Art Impressions, and I’m also using some chevron pattern paper from Scrapping for Less called Fairy’s Garden.

I decided to pull out my Prismacolor pencils to color in these ladies. I love AI stamps–they’re quirky and cute. They also provide you with a great example on the packaging of how to color in their images. For the most part I used their example as my inspiration, but I did change up the colors to match the cheery chevron pattern paper.

I colored them in pretty simply. Below you’ll see a list of the pencils I used. After I finished my coloring, I pulled out my Gamsol which is an odorless mineral spirit. I dipped a paper stump into the Gamsol and gently blended my colored pencil work. It breaks down the wax from the pencils and smooths out the coloring. It also helps to brighten the colors.

      Prismacolor Pencils:

Both Ladies – Skin: Beige 977 & Beige Sienna 1080, Hair: Sienna Brown 945 & Chocolate 1082, Lips: Process Red 994, Cheeks: Magenta 930

Lady on Left – Sweater: Light Aqua 992 & Muted Turquois 1088, Pants: Blush 928 & Clay Rose 1017, Shirt: 50% Cool Grey 1063, Shoes: Goldenrod 1034

Lady on Right – Sweater & Shoes: Apple Green 912 & Dark Green 908, Pants: 50% Cool Grey 1063

To pull this card together, I used a scalloped oval die to cut out my image and added some foam tape behind it. I used a banner die to cut out the chevron pattern paper, and I adhered everything down onto a piece of green card stock. This is a top-folding, A2 sized card. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of pink card stock and adhered that over my oval. I love the sentiments in this set–so funny and cute! For a touch of sparkle I added some green gems diagonally across the card.

Hi Everyone!  Luci here from My Crazy Craft Life with a few cards using the Gina K Designs “Sweet Friendship” stamp set, Spring Patterns paper pack from Scrapping for Less, some Crystal Nuvo Drops, Stone Nuvo Drops, and a few sequins!

I colored all of these images with Prismacolor Premier Pencils, I’ve added the photos of the pencil numbers next to each photo!

Be sure to check out the video HERE!

For this first card, I stamped the image on 110lb Neenah Solar White card stock.  I am making an A2 size card I used a stitched oval die to cut out a frame for the card.  I used a powder blue color card base and cut one of the pieces of pattern paper down to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, so the piece is the size of the card with no borders. I used a stitched oval die to create a frame from the pattern paper.  Then I adhered the floral design to the card base and used foam tape to pop up the frame piece and adhered it while lining it up.  I stamped the sentiment on the same type of paper and cut the thin strip to about 4 inches and fishtailed the ends.  I adhered the sentiment to the card panel toward the bottom leaving some of the frame hole showing on the bottom.  I used Crystal Nuvo Drops and some sequins from my stash to finish off the card.

For the second card, I stamped the image on Strathmore Colored Pencil paper, the card is A2 size and I cut the back panel from pattern paper to 4in X 5 1/4in to leave a border from the dusty pink color card base I used. I used a stitched oval die to cut out the image, used “Worn Lipstick” Distress Oxide Ink to give some color just to the outer edge of the oval.  Then I cut out an oval the next size up from the same colored pencil paper and layered it behind the oval with the image.  I adhered that piece toward the bottom center of the card, stamped a sentiment from the same paper, cut out the strip, fishtailed one end and adhered it to towards the top of the card. I finished off the card by adding some Crystal Nuvo Drops.

For my final card, I stamped the image on Strathmore Colored Pencil paper, the card is A2 size and I cut the back panel from pattern paper to 4in X 5 1/4in to leave a border from the Neenah Solar White card base I used.  I then used strips to crisscross measuring  2in X 4 1/4in and 1 3/4in X 5 1/2in.  The image I cut down to 2 1/2in X 3 3/4in  and adhered it to a rectangle piece measuring 3 1/4 X 4 1/2in.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the image paper and finished it off with some Nuvo Stone Drops.

Hi Everyone!  Luci here from “My Crazy Craft Life” with a card colored with Prisma Colored Pencils on Kraft cardstock and a Penny Black stamp “Tweetie“.  I made this CAS card which anyone who knows me, knows I have a hard time with them.  I used my stamping tool and Hero Arts Intense Black ink to stamp the image and sentiment because it’s a fairly large image I wanted to make sure I got a good impression.  I used Neenah Desert Storm 100 lb. cardstock.  Then I colored the image with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and that’s it!  It’s so hard for me to say that!  LOL Hey gotta work the things we can right???!!! There’s a video below you can check out.

      Have a great day!

    • Avery Elle Cool Beans Card

Posted at 9:00 am by Lynnea Hollendonner
      Jan 30th

Hi! It’s Lynnea Hollendonner and I have a project for the Scrapping for Less blog today using the Avery Elle Cool Beans stamp set and some colored pencils! And there’s a video at the end of this post!

I love the cute little coffee cup image in the Cool Beans stamp set and I toyed around with a bunch of ideas in my head before settling on this one! I used the Splatters stencil from Tim Holtz and some Ground Espresso Distress Ink to create my background. I taped down my stencil and then blended on the ink keeping it darker at the bottom and lighter at the top.

I stamped my coffee cup with some ink safe for colored pencils and grabbed a few colors of my Prismacolor pencils. I usually tend to stay away from colored pencils. I’m not good at coloring – especially with pencils. I can never get colors to blend and I always have streaky pencil marks. I usually use a blending stump and some gamsol to blend the colors together, but I can’t seem to keep a good point on the stumps and the gamsol almost shreds my paper. I watched Jennifer McGuire’s video where she showed how to put gamsol into an alcohol ink blending pen and use that to color with pencils and I was AMAZED! I had to try it for myself! Watch the video below to see exactly how I colored this cup!

I put down some quick color with my pencils and then used the blending pen filled with gamsol to blend the colors together. And look! No streaky pencil lines! I cut out the cup and popped it up with foam and added some colored hearts as accents to finish off the card!
