    • Summer Daisies Paper Pad ~ Post It Note Holder

Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with a fun swap that I made for fellow design team member Stacy using the beautiful Summer Daisies paper pad that was recently released at Scrapping for Less. I combined the papers with some other products in my stash…
      let’s have a look!
I started with a cereal box… yup! You read that right. I cut all of my pieces for the post it note holder from the cereal box first. Here’s a link to the tutorial I used… Easy Note Pad Holder Book.
I used the cereal box in place of the chipboard coasters mentioned in the tutorial.
I covered the cereal box pieces with pretty polka dot papers from Stampin’ Up and then used the gorgeous Summer Daisies from SFL to decorate and embellish the other pieces. The beautiful ribbon is from Papertrey Ink… seriously a mash up of products from my stash! The daisy is one of my digital stamps available at Polka Dot Orchard… called Whoops a Daisy. I printed it out, colored it with a few copic markers {C00, C1, C2, Y11, Y13, Y35, YG11} and then fussy cut it. I couldn’t find quite the right sentiment, so I just printed this one off from my computer on card stock and fussy cut it.
The side view… I only had a couple post it note pads in coordinating colors.
This holder could hold a lot of post it notes!
The inside… isn’t it cute?! I’ve had that mini pen from the Dollar Spot at Target for years… it works perfectly with this holder!
To clean up the edges of my patterned papers I used a sanding block that I’ve had in my stash forever. I believe it’s from Stampin’ Up as well.
That’s it! It was so fun to create something to send off to a crafty friend!
I definitely need to make more of these!
Check out all the new fabulous paper pads recently released at SFL here… New Paper Pads!!
This paper hoarder has to have them all! Lol..
Thanks so much for stopping by!
      See ya next time.
      Inky Hugs,
      Crystal

    • Revisiting the September 2018 FOTM Kit

Hello! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today and I am revisiting the September 2018 Flavor of the Month card kit. I’m focusing on Fall projects this month, so I decided to pull this cute little kit out and have some fun. You can see the full project share video HERE.

I combined collections 2 and 3 to make a cute little Fall themed mini scrapbook album.

I used some 5 1/2 inch square Kraft envelopes to create my album base. I used the patterned papers, cardstocks, stamps and ephemera from the collections to decorate up the album.

From the Let’s Talk About Bees collection, I made 5 cards, 3 of which used the super cute Bumblebee Marci stamp set. I decorated up a mini composition notebook using patterned paper and a piece of ephemera. I also made a post it note pad holder, using the cute beehive paper and ephemera. And, lastly, I was able to make a little tag using up the scraps from this collection.

I loved this Amber Moon collection from Prima! It’s so pretty! I made 7 cards and a couple of lunch box cards to use up the scraps.

I had one piece of scarecrow ephemera left and since it had sunflowers on it (sunflowers are my favorite), I made a little decor piece using a small wooden block I had on hand. I managed to pool scraps from all the collections together to get one more full size card and one more lunch box note.

Thanks for stopping by today! I had a lot of fun with this collection and the paper was all so pretty! I hope you can find some inspiration to use up an older kit in your stash as well! Have a crafty day!

    • Sticky Note Holders featuring Winter Fairy Collection|Scrapping for Less

      Jan 12th

Hi everyone!  I’m Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts and I’m super excited to be a guest designer this month for SFL!  Today I’m sharing a different way to use the Winter Fairies stamp set and Winter in Pink paper pack. I needed some thank you gifts for a birthday party my daughter is having and this bundle was perfect!

I made a decorated post it note pad holder using one of the fairies and sentiments from the Winter Fairies stamp set. I also have a process video on my YouTube channel, Bourbon Creek Crafts.  I colored the fairy with a variety of Prismacolor colored pencils and then accented her hat with Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Diamond and glittered up her wings (and the star on the wand) with clear Wink of Stella.  Because every good fairy should have some sparkle!

To make the post it note holder, I used a 3 1/4 x 7 inch piece of heavy duty white cardstock.  I scored the cardstock piece at 3 1/4 inches from both ends.  Then I used 2 different papers from the Winter in Pink 6×6 paper pack to decorate the cardstock.  I cut the patterned paper to 3 1/8 inches square, so there was just a small border of the white cardstock base showing and adhered it to the post it note holder base.

I stamped the “a warm fairy hello” onto white cardstock and cut it down to ¾ inch by 1 3/8 inches.  I also cut one end of that piece into a fish-tail banner.  I fussy cut the fairy and adhered the fairy and the sentiment to the front of the post it note holder. Then I finished it off with some sequins from past SFL Flavor of the Month kits.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my project!  I look forward to joining you all again later this month!
