    • “You were Mermaid to be Awesome” featuring “Magical Mermaids” by Sunny Studio Stamps.

Hello Everyone! Christine with Pattercrafts here with a mostly 1 layer card. Today I wanted to build a scene with a lot of the stamps found in this set – Magical Mermaids by Sunny Studio. I first stamped all three mermaids from the stamp set on some Canson watercolor paper. I used Archival Jet Black Ink because it is waterproof. Today, I am using the Arteza Real Brush pens to color my scene.

I cut masks from Post It notes – the kind that are full adhesive – and covered the bottom 2 mermaids that I want to be sitting on the rock. After I masked the mermaids, I stamped the rocks. I also wanted the sea grass to be behind the rocks so I made a mask from the rock stamp and then covered the rock. Once done, I stamped the sea grass.

*When stamping a scene and you use masking, remember to stamp the image that will be in the “front” first.*

Once all the stamping was done, I used Arteza real brush pens to color the images and background. When I color with these brush pens, I use an acrylic block and a waterbrush. I usually lay the Arteza color down where I want the darkest areas, then color on the acrylic block and pick the color up with the waterbrush. Once all the images were colored, I added 3 different blue colors to an acrylic block and colored the entire back of the scene.

To finish the card, I cut the mermaid tails from Scrapberry’s Ocean Enchantment pattern paper. I added a little bit of highlight with a white gel pen and a little shimmer with the Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.

Thank you all for joining me today! I hope you enjoy and get inspired!

Hello crafters.  I hope you are staying warm with these FRIGID temperatures we have.

Today, I am creating a one layer scene using the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set by Newton’s Nook.

I started by stamping and masking my images from the set and using a Copic safe pen to create little tiles for the counter top these cuties are sitting on.  I used Distress Oxide Inks for my wall and colored my images with Copic markers.

I cut down my panel using a stitched rectangle die and added my sentiment and a bit of shimmer.

That’s it for today guys.  Have a creative and crafty day!

      -Courtney

    • One Layer Scene with S’more Fun by The Greeting Farm

Hi Crafters and happy weekend,  I hope it is off to a good start.

Today I am creating a one layer scene using the S’more Fun stamp set by The Greeting Farm.

I started by masking off all 4 sides of my card panel and stamped and masked my images.  I created a little sign for my sentiment and used liquid frisket to mask that out.

I did some Distress Oxide Ink blending for my sky and my grass and colored the images with my Copic Markers being sure to leave a highlight that would be created from the campfire.

Last I added some shimmer and a few details with my white gel pen and adhered this to an A2 size notecard.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative and crafty day!!

    • Super Simple Scene Building with Brutus Monroe

Happy weekend crafters.  I am here with a design team project today and we are going to be creating a VERY simple scene which means no masking and no ink blending.

I started by stamping my images from the Brutus and Friends stamp set being sure not to overlap.  Next, I drew in some straight line in the background to create my fence.

I colored all of my images as well as the fence, and the grassy area with my Copic markers, being sure to create shadows for each image.  This will give you card some dimension even though it is only one layer.

I stamped my sentiment and called this one done. Thanks for stopping by guys and have a creative day!
