Hello Everyone! Christine with Pattercrafts here with a mostly 1 layer card. Today I wanted to build a scene with a lot of the stamps found in this set – Magical Mermaids by Sunny Studio. I first stamped all three mermaids from the stamp set on some Canson watercolor paper. I used Archival Jet Black Ink because it is waterproof. Today, I am using the Arteza Real Brush pens to color my scene.

I cut masks from Post It notes – the kind that are full adhesive – and covered the bottom 2 mermaids that I want to be sitting on the rock. After I masked the mermaids, I stamped the rocks. I also wanted the sea grass to be behind the rocks so I made a mask from the rock stamp and then covered the rock. Once done, I stamped the sea grass.
*When stamping a scene and you use masking, remember to stamp the image that will be in the “front” first.*

Once all the stamping was done, I used Arteza real brush pens to color the images and background. When I color with these brush pens, I use an acrylic block and a waterbrush. I usually lay the Arteza color down where I want the darkest areas, then color on the acrylic block and pick the color up with the waterbrush. Once all the images were colored, I added 3 different blue colors to an acrylic block and colored the entire back of the scene.

To finish the card, I cut the mermaid tails from Scrapberry’s Ocean Enchantment pattern paper. I added a little bit of highlight with a white gel pen and a little shimmer with the Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.
Thank you all for joining me today! I hope you enjoy and get inspired!
