    • Ornamental Christmas

Posted at 9:00 am by Kimberly Smith
      Dec 3rd

      Hello, hello!

Kim here from @CardmakingBlonde sharing with you what just may be one of the most elegant Christmas cards I have made this year! Now I love heat embossing and the SFL “Ornamental Christmas” stamp set perfectly lends itself to be heat embossed. Once I got the ornament and the sentiment embossed onto the card I pierced the paper inside the bulb’s hook and strung some gold thread through it. Layered the card with gold glitter paper then the last touch was adding glitter gold Nuvo drops in random dots around the card.

I am so happy with how this card turned out! It’s sparkly and elegant, I am so looking forward to giving this card away! Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today. I hope you are getting into the Holiday Spirit we could all use a little more happy this year! Tis’ the Season!!!

      Keep on creating,

      Kim 🙂

    • Have A Red Christmas from SFL!

Posted at 9:00 am by kimmyfsmithyahoocom
      Aug 20th

Hello my fellow crafters, I am so glad you are here today! I cannot believe we are so close to September and before we know it we’ll all be staring down Christmas wondering where the time went. Scrapping For Less has been creating beautiful paper pads and one of the newest ones is “A Red Christmas” and it’s a must have!

The card above shows off several of the sheets from the “A Red Christmas” paper pad. I just couldn’t bring myself to cover up the ornaments on that main middle panel which is why I went with die cutting the sentiment and letting that be the focal point. Originally cut out in kraft paper it wasn’t showing up enough for my taste so out came Nuvo drops in white to make sure the sentiment would stand out. Also added some dots to the little tab at the top right.

Below is a pic of all the recently released paper pads. Grab yours before they’re gone!

Thank you for stopping in today. I wish you time for yourself this week to do whatever makes your heart happy.

      Just keep creating,

      Kim 🙂

    • La-La Land Crafts ~ Dream Come True

Posted at 9:00 am by Crystal O. Minkler
      Dec 13th

Hello there crafty friends! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with a sweet birthday card for a little one in your life… who doesn’t love a sweet dragon?! I just adore this one from the Dream Come True stamp set by La-La Land Crafts!!

As I mentioned in my blog post last Friday for Scrapping for Less, I played some more with the fun Nuvo Chalk White Stone drops for my card today but this time I painted with the drops. I added a few drops… actually more like blobs… on my Glass Media Mat and then with my paint brush painted over a piece of pink card stock. For my other piece of pink card stock, I added drops directly on the card stock and painted directly on that piece. Both applications of the Stone drops for this technique gave me basically the same results, but I didn’t have to clean up my Glass Media Mat for the latter.

While I let the painted Stone drops dry, I stamped the sweet dragon onto white card stock with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored it in with the following Copic markers ~ B0000, B00, B12, V01, V04, V20. I then fussy cut the dragon and cleaned up the edges with a Memento tuxedo black marker. A little tip for those of you trying this trick for the first time… be sure to color the edges of the fussy cut image from behind so if the marker slips it marks up the back of your image rather than the nicely colored front.

I set the dragon aside and die cut the now dry Stone drop painted card stock with the Puffy Clouds die from My Favorite Things.

The clouds turned out just as I had hoped… so much fun texture and dimension!! I love them!

I then trimmed down my white card front to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″ and die cut it with a stitched in and out circle die. I laid that on top of my white card base and traced around the inner circle lightly with a pencil. Now I had an idea of where to blend my Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink for my clouds in the background. I blended the clouds over the Mini Cloud Edges stencil from My Favorite Things being careful to stay within the traced circle… just extra careful so my white edges on the card base stayed white. I then erased the pencil marks on the card base and adhered a few of the pink Stone drop painted clouds. I adhered the top white card stock piece with the die cut stitched circle and then adhered the remaining clouds. I popped up the sweet dragon using foam tape and stamped the Make a Wish sentiment using my Stamp Platform to ensure I got a nice crisp inking!

And then I got to thinking it would be fun to add some drops but not the Stone drops… so I grabbed the Sea Breeze Jewel drops and Fairy Wings Dream drops and went a little crazy! But I really love the different looks of all of the drops on this card! I sure hope that I’ve inspired you to think out of the box a bit and use those Nuvo drops for other techniques!

Thanks so much for stopping by! See ya next time.

      Inky Hugs,

      Crystal

    • 12 cards featuring Doodlebug Winter Wonderland

      Dec 10th

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Stacy from Craftaholicmomma up today on the Scrapping for Less blog with a bunch of cards I made using what I think is probably my newest favorite Doodlebug collection: Winter Wonderland. Well…..it’s definitely in the top 5. LOL

What I love about Doodlebug is all you need is their 6×6 paper pad and the Icon stickers and you are good to go! I’m only showing 12 cards today. I originally made 23 cards and one cell phone case insert from the paper pad. However, I gave some of the cards away to family and friends before I realized I wanted to use them in my Design Team post.

Stop over to the Scrapping for Less store to grab some of this line of products in this adorable collection.

      Thanks for visiting,

    • Heffy Doodle & Nuvo ~ Prehistoric Pals Meet Stone Drops

Posted at 9:00 am by Crystal O. Minkler
      Dec 6th

Hey there crafty friends! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with a cute card using the adorable Prehistoric Pals stamp set from Heffy Doodle along with the In the Desert papers by Scrapping for Less! I just love all the cute images in the set and the punny sentiments are amazing!

To start my card, I cut a half sheet of kraft card stock into two pieces measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″. I then die cut one of the pieces. I also die cut the patterned paper with the same stitched rectangle die. I trimmed the patterned paper and adhered it to the die cut kraft card stock. I then adhered that piece to the other kraft card front and then adhered the entire panel to a white card base.

I die cut the other patterned paper with a stitched banner die and adhered it to a scrap piece of kraft card stock and fussy cut a mat. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark watermark ink and heat embossed a fine white embossing powder. I set the card aside and stamped the mammoth and cave girl with Memento tuxedo black ink.

I colored the images with the following Copic markers:

      Cave Girl ~ Skin ~ E0000, E00, E11; Hair ~ E21, E23, E37;

      Clothes ~ E42, E44, E47, YR14, YR24, YR27

      Mammoth ~ YR14, YR21, YR24, YR27, E44, E47, W00, W1, W3

I fussy cut the images and cleaned up the edges of the images with a Memento tuxedo black marker. I die cut a stitched circle from white card stock and colored it with a bit of N0 and N1 to ground the images. I popped up the images on the stitched circle using foam tape.

To finish off the card, I added a bunch of Nuvo Chalk White Stone drops… once I started playing with these gritty drops I just couldn’t stop adding them. I think they are perfect for this prehistoric card!! They look like tiny boulders… so fun!

Here’s one more look at this cute card… I think this sentiment works for so many occasions!!

And I’m excited to play some more with the Nuvo Stone drops… I just may use them in my next post!

Thanks so much for stopping by! See ya next time.

      Inky Hugs,

      Crystal

Hi Everyone!  Luci here from My Crazy Craft Life with a few cards using the Gina K Designs “Sweet Friendship” stamp set, Spring Patterns paper pack from Scrapping for Less, some Crystal Nuvo Drops, Stone Nuvo Drops, and a few sequins!

I colored all of these images with Prismacolor Premier Pencils, I’ve added the photos of the pencil numbers next to each photo!

Be sure to check out the video HERE!

For this first card, I stamped the image on 110lb Neenah Solar White card stock.  I am making an A2 size card I used a stitched oval die to cut out a frame for the card.  I used a powder blue color card base and cut one of the pieces of pattern paper down to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, so the piece is the size of the card with no borders. I used a stitched oval die to create a frame from the pattern paper.  Then I adhered the floral design to the card base and used foam tape to pop up the frame piece and adhered it while lining it up.  I stamped the sentiment on the same type of paper and cut the thin strip to about 4 inches and fishtailed the ends.  I adhered the sentiment to the card panel toward the bottom leaving some of the frame hole showing on the bottom.  I used Crystal Nuvo Drops and some sequins from my stash to finish off the card.

For the second card, I stamped the image on Strathmore Colored Pencil paper, the card is A2 size and I cut the back panel from pattern paper to 4in X 5 1/4in to leave a border from the dusty pink color card base I used. I used a stitched oval die to cut out the image, used “Worn Lipstick” Distress Oxide Ink to give some color just to the outer edge of the oval.  Then I cut out an oval the next size up from the same colored pencil paper and layered it behind the oval with the image.  I adhered that piece toward the bottom center of the card, stamped a sentiment from the same paper, cut out the strip, fishtailed one end and adhered it to towards the top of the card. I finished off the card by adding some Crystal Nuvo Drops.

For my final card, I stamped the image on Strathmore Colored Pencil paper, the card is A2 size and I cut the back panel from pattern paper to 4in X 5 1/4in to leave a border from the Neenah Solar White card base I used.  I then used strips to crisscross measuring  2in X 4 1/4in and 1 3/4in X 5 1/2in.  The image I cut down to 2 1/2in X 3 3/4in  and adhered it to a rectangle piece measuring 3 1/4 X 4 1/2in.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the image paper and finished it off with some Nuvo Stone Drops.

    • “A Cozy Christmas” – featuring LDRS Arctic Animals and Carta Bella Christmas

Posted at 4:39 pm by Stacy Tiedemann
      Nov 3rd

Hello!  Alicia (Crazy Paper Chick) here and I am so excited to be a guest designer for the month of November for Scrapping for Less.

For my card today, I used the beautiful pattern paper from Carta Bella called Christmas.  If you love a rustic theme for your Christmas cards,  you will love this paper!  For my stamp set I used LDRS Creative’s Arctic Animals.  The sweet fox paired perfectly with the rustic theme of the pattern paper.  I chose to color the fox gray to give it a soft look against the “wood” background of the pattern paper.  For the sentiment I used a piece of pattern paper from the same paper pack.
I added some ribbon from my stash and adhered everything down to my vanilla card base measuring A2 size (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ once scored and folded).  I topped the card off with some Nuvo Drops in Honey Gold to add some sparkle.

      Thanks for visiting,

    • Home for the Holidays with Hero Arts

Hello everyone, it’s Stacy here from CraftaholicMomma up today on the Scrapping for Less blog with a sweet card featuring the Hero Arts stamp set called Home for the Holidays.

I hand cut some snowdrifts with my scissors and attached them flat and layered onto my card base that was inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. I ran a bead of Nuvo Glitter drops in White Blizzard along the edges to give them some interest and sparkle.

I stamped the images on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock in Momento Tuxedo Black in and colored them in with Copic Markers. After that I fussy cut the images and adhered them to my card with adhesive foam.

Adding a little bit more White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops finishes off the card nicely.

I hope you enjoyed my card and it inspires you to make some winter cards.

    • Stamping Bella ~ Tumbleblossom Cluster ~ A Thanks+giving Card

Posted at 9:00 am by Crystal O. Minkler
      Sep 19th

Hello there crafty friends! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with another look at the fabulous Tumbleblossom Cluster stamp set by Stamping Bella… this stamp is absolutely stunning and such a dream to color! I had so much fun watercoloring it last week that I just had to color it up with my copic markers.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve attempted an Eclipse card and I thought it would be so fun to use the florals in this stamp as my eclipse background. Can you see the “Thanks” in the midst of the florals? It’s not super easy to see in this first picture but the closeup pictures that follow you can see it more and more.

      I used the following Copic markers to color these beautiful flowers in Autumn hues ~ Y000, Y06, Y17, YR000, YR15, YR27, YR68, BG70, BG72, BG75, YG11, YG95, YG97, R000, R00, R11, R14, R20, R56, R89. I added touches of white in the centers of some of the flowers with a white gel pen.

I die cut the thanks from the center of the flowers and then again three more times from scraps of kraft card stock. I then stamped the “+ giving” from the Fall Breeze stamp set by Photo Play, masking the “thanks” portion of the sentiment, onto a scrap piece of black card stock with VersaMark watermark ink and heat embossed a fine white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and set it aside.

I die cut the flowers with the scallop peekaboo rectangle and then die cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ piece of black card stock. I adhered the two pieces onto a thin piece of white card stock and adhered the “thanks” die cut pieces. I then popped up the “+ giving” sentiment with foam squares. To finish off the card, I added several Chalk White Nuvo Stone Drops.

Here’s one more look at the card. I sure hope that you like my second Autumn take on this lovely cluster stamp. I truly enjoyed making it and I hope I’ve inspired you to give the Eclipse technique a try. Such a fun technique!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! See ya next time.

      Inky Hugs,

      Crystal

    • Avery Elle Spring Bouquet and No Line Copic Coloring | Scrapping for Less

Posted at 4:20 pm by Stacy Tiedemann
      Apr 20th

Hi everybody.  Courtney here with another coloring project.  Today I used the Spring Bouquet stamp set by Avery Elle to do a bit more no-line Copic coloring.

I stamped the image with a light ink and worked one petal at a time being sure to create dimension with those “scary dark colors”.

I added my stamen back in with a Signo Unibal white gel pen and stamped my sentiment.

I created a mat for my main panel by coloring just the edges with a matching Copic marker.  This gives the illusion that you have a matching cardstock.

Last, I added a few Nuvo drops and called this one done.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative and crafty day!

      -Courtney
