    • You’re My Favorite to Hang With

Hey, everyone! I love that “In the Wild” is August’s theme at Scrapping for Less! Get ready for lots of cute critter projects from myself and the rest of the design team! Today I used a set of dies to create a faux cover die look! Super easy and looks great! Find more on my blog!

      Hang Out

Are you anything like me? – I have so much colored cardstock in my craft room! I’ve made a promise to myself to start using it! I decided to make a faux coverplate background using the Jungle Leaves dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I do this all the time – it’s super easy! I grabbed two colors of green cardstock – a light green for the background and a mid green for all of my die cutting. I used the curved vine from the Jungle Leaves die set and cut it multiple times from the mid green cardstock. Then I glued all the little vines onto the lighter green cardstock to create my leafy vine background.

      Hang Out 2

The sloths in the LaLa Land Crafts Take it Sloth stamp set are just too cute! I stamped one hanging from a branch onto heavy weight cardstock and colored him with my alcohol markers. I used my scissors to trim around the image and added it to the right side of my background so it looks like the sloth is hanging off the side of my card.

      Hang Out 3

I stamped a coordinating sentiment in green ink and trimmed the edges of the sentiment strip to banner ends and added it towards the center of my card. I have a video tutorial for this card below!

    • La-la Land Crafts with Pink & Main ~ Unicorn Marci on Watercolor Foil

Posted at 9:00 am by Crystal O. Minkler

      Hi there crafty peeps!

Crystal here sharing an adorable card today using Unicorn Marci and some absolutely beautiful paper from Pink & Main called Watercolor Foil.

I shared a card last week using Unicorn Marci… you can check out that card here —> Unicorn Marci with Coffee Distress Oxide Watercolor card! I watercolored my card for last week, but for this week I wanted to use bright colors to coordinate the beautiful Watercolor Foil papers so I stamped Unicorn Marci using Gina K Designs Amalgam black ink and then colored her in using the following Copic markers:

      Skin ~ E000, E21, E51, R20

      Hair ~ E42, E43, E44, Y21

      Pajamas ~ RV10, RV14, RV17, RV25, N0, N1

      Slipper boots ~ N0, N1, Colorless Blender

I die cut the Watercolor Foil papers and adhered them to a white card base. I then fussy cut Unicorn Marci and set her aside. I die cut some clouds that I lightly sponged with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink but any blue oxide ink would work. There happens to be this ink in the shop —> Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink… which would work just as well when lightly sponged on.

I adhered the die cut clouds with liquid glue so I could adjust them quickly before they set. I popped up my fussy cut Unicorn Marci with foam tape. I then stamped the cute sentiment on white card stock with Gina K Designs Amalgam black ink, fussy cut a flag, and then popped it up on the card. I just love that beautiful shine from the foil in the Watercolor Foil papers! So pretty! I sure hope you’ve enjoyed my card!

Thanks for checking out my blog post!

      See ya next time.

      Inky Hugs,

      Crystal

    • LaLa Land “Dream Come True”

Hi Everyone!  I am here today using he LaLa Land Crafts stamp set “Dream Come True” you can pick up this set over at Scrapping for Less.  When I saw the sentiment “You are my dream come true” I knew I wanted to have the knight dreaming of the princess.  Be sure to check out the video HERE for all the details.

20190427_173505I am making an A2 size card so started out stamping the images on to a card panel that was 5 1/4″ X 4″.  I used a cloud die to create a mask for a thought bubble. Then I masked the images and used distress oxides to make the background using a cloud and hillside stencil.  I colored the images with Copic markers and heat embossed the sentiment on to a sentiment strip.  I used my cropodile to round the edges of the panel and the two edges at the opening of the card and added Morning Dew Nuvo Drops for the little dots going to the thought bubble.  I finished it off using the Nuvo Sparkle Pen on the Princess crown and dress and also on the Knights plume, shield and the flag and a few puffy gold sticker dots.

    • La-La Land Crafts ~ Make a Splash!

      Jun 2nd

Hello! It’s Crystal here with another birthday card featuring the beautiful mermaid stamp from La-La Land Crafts called Sitting Mermaid Marci. Isn’t she the sweetest mermaid?! Oh my goodness… so much fun to color!

I started with my background by blending Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks on a white card base. Once I had it blended how I liked, I stamped the bubbles in Mermaid Lagoon ink. I gently rubbed my background with my embossing buddy so the embossing powder wouldn’t stick to the distress oxide ink. I then stamped the bubbles some more with Versamark watermark ink and heat embossed some ultra fine white embossing powder.

On a separate piece of white card stock, I stamped the mermaid image with Memento tuxedo black ink and I colored her in with the following Copic markers ~ V04, V09, V12, RV06, RV10, RV21, E000, E00, E34, E50, E53, E57. I fussy cut her out and set her aside. I die cut my stitched circle window on a piece of white card stock measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches… a piece big enough to cover the entire cardfront. I adhered the piece to my card base and then stamped the two fish and sentiment. I colored the fish in with the following Copic markers ~ B02, B16, V04, V09.

I decided at this point that I wanted to go with a Faux Shaker design… so I searched through my sequins and found these pretty ones in my stash. That’s it for this card!

      Thanks for stopping by!

      See ya next time.

      ~ Crystal
