    • Happy Birthday to Moo! | May 2018 Flavor of the Month Card Kit Revisited

Hello, Happy Tuesday!  It’s Stacy here from Craftaholicmomma up on the blog today.  I wanted to share with you a card I made today from a past Flavor of the Month Card Kit.  For many months since Scrapping for Less has started selling these card kits it was my mission to obliterate each one and make as many cards as I could from it.  Well, as you know, sometimes life gets in the way and the past few months I have been unable to devote so much time into demolishing each kit.  So I decided to dig out one of the past kits and revisit it and make some cards.  This kit from May 2018 called “In the Countryside” was one of my favorites.  Even though I am a girl from “town” I just adore and love farm images and colors.  I love the gingham colors and patterns often associated with farm life.  I love love love cows, pigs, goats, horses and chickens.

As an added bonus for you, Scrapping for Less has a few of these In the Countryside kits left and what’s even better news they are ON SALE!  You can save $10 off the original price of $40.  Yes!  That’s a great deal, $30 for a Banana Split level kit with a ton of goodies that will give you hours of crafting fun.

If you’d like to join the Flavor of the Month Card Kit monthly subscription, click on the Flavor of the Month icon for all the details.

      Thanks so much for visiting,

Hi, there! I created a card using a past kit from Scrapping for Less today! I love the May 2018 kit so much that I went and bought it! It’s called Countryside and there’s still some left (and they’re on sale!). This kit has multiple stamp sets that are exclusive to this SFL kit and you can’t get them anywhere else! How awesome is that! I used products from collection 1 including an exclusive stamp set from Brutus Monroe! And there’s a video at the end of this post so make sure you scroll all the way down!

The exclusive Brutus Monroe stamp set has 4 different images that look like what you’d see on an old time farm sign! I love white heat embossing on red paper, so I did that for my background for this card. But I think these stamps would look SO cool stamped on kraft with a brown embossing powder with distressed edges! Just like an old time farm sign! Anyway…. I decided to use the white embossing on red paper from the kit. I used my MISTI so that I could stamp all 4 images at once with Versamark ink.

Once my background was stamped and embossed I grabbed a piece of patterned paper and trimmed off one of the scenes and used tape runner adhesive to glue it down to the bottom third of my background. I love the empherma piece that says “farm house, sweet farm house” and I wanted to use that as my accent piece. I’ll be sending this to card to my mom. My parents raise chickens for their eggs and any time my friends go up to their house they call it a farm and my mom gets a kick out of it! I know she’ll love that sentiment!

I thought that the sentiment piece blended in with the scene on the strip of patterned paper. No problem at all! Here’s the trick I always do – I glued the accent piece onto a piece of white cardstock and trimmed around it with my scissors leaving a small white border – just like you would when you fussy cut stamps! Now the piece stands out! You can watch the process for this card below!
