      Hello there!

Kim here from Cardmaking Blonde bringing you a card made using one of the cutest encouraging stamp sets I’ve ever used! “Balloon Ride” from Paperie Ink has several critters to choose from and enough hot air balloons to do a little balloon like I did or to do an entire scene.

Here’s how this card came together:

      • stamped image in Gina K black amalgam ink on Neenah Crest 110lb white cardstock
      • colored images in with Arteza alcohol markers
      • chose patterned paper from the SFL paper pad “Monkey Around”
      • stamped sentiment out in black onyx VersaFine ink
      • used a sentiment strip die to cut out the stamped sentiment
      • added some extra embellishments with Pink & Main’s Glossy Hearts: Gold

I really enjoyed using this stamp set, I always know I have my hands on a good stamp set when as I am working with it for one card I already begin thinking of what I want to do with it for my next card.

Thank you for joining me today on the blog and taking a closer look at Paperie Ink’s “Balloon Ride.” I hope you get any encouragement you may be needing today and also take a minute to encourage another.

      Keep on creating,

      Kim 🙂

      Happy Sneak Peek Week!

      Hi all!

Cardmaking Blonde bringing you a glimpse at one of the stamps in July’s Flavor of the Month card kit along with the sentiments on the stamp set as well. This image was perfect for making a one layer card! Since the majority of the content was so close together I only focused on shading in the larger areas like the ocean and the sky.

This month’s kit is called In The Tropics. If you want to be sure to get yours sign up for a subscription. The kit will reveal Saturday, July 25th at midnight EST. Should you choose to wait for the reveal get one in your cart as soon as you can before they’re gone!

Thanks for stopping in and I look forward to seeing your comment this weekend during our reveal hop.

      Just keep creating,

      Kim 🙂

    • Your Best Life Cards

Posted at 9:00 am by Kimberly Smith
      May 14th

      Hello fellow crafters!

I realize that we have all been grounded as of late but that hasn’t stopped me from dreaming. I have a few cards here that I created using the Best Life collection from April’s Flavor of the Month Card Kit. Come along with me for a quick rundown of my cards.

      sflblog05142020

If you’ve seen the stamp set you’ll notice someone is missing, for this card I just wanted the scooter so after coloring it, I cut it out went around the edges with a memento marker and adhered it in the oval.

      sflblog05142020b

This card came together because I didn’t want to cover up too much of the background paper. I love all the mail images and was having a hard time choosing just one square that I wanted to use. In this collection photo corners were one of the embellishments and every time I see them I see arrows so after trimming off the edges I thought they made pretty convincing arrows.

      sflblog05142020c

I pulled in a stamp set from my stash that I thought would be perfect to send to my friend living over seas.

      sflblog5142020d

If you’ve had a chance to do the challenge on the SFL Show and Share group on FaceBook this may look familiar. I used the sketch challenge for this card.

      sflblog5142020e

I loosely followed the same sketch for this one but had some leftover pieces that I wanted to use. Once I put the sentiment on the tag it looked a little lonely all by itself so I cut out a few of the icons and added them to the tag.

Thanks so much for joining me today and taking a look at what I came up with using this collection from our April Flavor of the Month Card Kit. Don’t forget to sign up for a subscription if you want to be sure to get your hands on May’s kit. April’s sold out!

Take care and keep on crafting!

      Kim:)

2019 Scrapping for Less Art Impressions Card THUMB 04

Hello everyone! Jackie here from Jackie’s Craft Table. I hope you’re all having a fun holiday season! I’m taking a break from Holiday Card crafting to create a fabulous friendship card!

The stamp set I’m using is called Girlfriends from Art Impressions, and I’m also using some chevron pattern paper from Scrapping for Less called Fairy’s Garden.

I decided to pull out my Prismacolor pencils to color in these ladies. I love AI stamps–they’re quirky and cute. They also provide you with a great example on the packaging of how to color in their images. For the most part I used their example as my inspiration, but I did change up the colors to match the cheery chevron pattern paper.

2019 Scrapping for Less Art Impressions Card THUMB 03

I colored them in pretty simply. Below you’ll see a list of the pencils I used. After I finished my coloring, I pulled out my Gamsol which is an odorless mineral spirit. I dipped a paper stump into the Gamsol and gently blended my colored pencil work. It breaks down the wax from the pencils and smooths out the coloring. It also helps to brighten the colors.

      Prismacolor Pencils:

Both Ladies – Skin: Beige 977 & Beige Sienna 1080, Hair: Sienna Brown 945 & Chocolate 1082, Lips: Process Red 994, Cheeks: Magenta 930

Lady on Left – Sweater: Light Aqua 992 & Muted Turquois 1088, Pants: Blush 928 & Clay Rose 1017, Shirt: 50% Cool Grey 1063, Shoes: Goldenrod 1034

Lady on Right – Sweater & Shoes: Apple Green 912 & Dark Green 908, Pants: 50% Cool Grey 1063

2019 Scrapping for Less Art Impressions Card THUMB

To pull this card together, I used a scalloped oval die to cut out my image and added some foam tape behind it. I used a banner die to cut out the chevron pattern paper, and I adhered everything down onto a piece of green card stock. This is a top-folding, A2 sized card. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of pink card stock and adhered that over my oval. I love the sentiments in this set–so funny and cute! For a touch of sparkle I added some green gems diagonally across the card.

You can check out my process video over on my YouTube channel.

    • Winter Fun with A Gnome Winter by Picket Fence Studios

Posted at 9:00 am by Kimberly Smith
      Oct 30th

sflblogpost10192019Hi Everybody! Kim here and today I am using A Winter Gnome by Picket Fences which brings cuteness with just a face. I don’t know how they have managed to accomplish this but I’ll take it because this little gnome head is just adorable and without even seeing his eyes he screams Winter! I knew when I pulled this stamp set out to play with…er I mean work with it that I definitely wanted to use Kraft cardstock. I also wanted his beard to be very white and I thought the Kraft cardstock would work well for this. Originally I was going to adhere the naked trees down on top of Kraft paper but while making another card with Carta Bella’s Christmas 6×6 paper pad the snowflakes on top of woodgrain sheet caught my eye and I thought those trees would look perfect on top of that paper instead.

      sflblogpost10192019b

I heat embossed the image on Kraft cardstock with detailed white embossing powder after stamping the image with Versa Mark ink. Blues of course work for winter, I was going for an ombre effect so I started with Navy and worked up with lighter blues by section. Coloring with Derwent Inktense pencils I guess I just forgot that they don’t resist water in any way and thought I could wipe the color off the white embossed areas with a baby wipe but that did NOT work the way it did in my head. So I ended up fussy cutting the image out and using a label punch to punch out the sentiment.

      sflblogpost10192019d

Instead of the white embossing powder which I had already embossed by the way resisting the blue it looks like it just absorbed it. Not what I was going for but it certainly became what I was going with (insert wink emoji here). After adding some sequins with Multi Medium Matte I then used a white Signo pen to trace over some of the details in the gnome’s hat to make them look whiter. I also decided that his beard needed some of that white Signo pen treatment as well. All in all I am happy with this card and per usual seeing about a dozen other ways I would like to use this stamp set.

Thank you so much for checking out the blog today, I hope you take some time for yourself and get crafty.

      Keep on crafting,

      Kim 🙂

    • Adding Color with Nuvo Dream Drops

Posted at 9:00 am by Lynnea Hollendonner
      May 13th

Hey everyone! It’s Lynnea! Have you ever tried coloring an image with Nuvo Dream Drops? I did and the results are fantastic! I have a video for you and you can find the products I’ve used in the Scrapping for Less store!

      Dream Drops

I made two cards using the Indigo Eclipse Nuvo Dream Drops and the Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After stamp set. I started by stamping the unicorn and the dragon from the Critters Ever After stamp set and coloring the white parts of their bodies with an N0 Copic marker for shading. I added some gold accents to the unicorn horn and the horns of the dragon with a Nuvo shimmer marker.

      Dream Drops 2

Then came the fun part! I squeezed out some of the Indigo Eclipse Nuvo Dream Drops onto my glass work surface and picked it up with my stylus and “colored” with the Dream Drops! How cool! I love that the Dream Drops allow the stamping to show through because they are translucent.

      Dream Drops 3

I added some stamping to the background of my cards for interest using a My Favorite Things background stripe stamp and the stars from the Critters Ever After stamp set. Then I added my images with foam squares! Check out the video below!

    • Gina K Designs Through Thick and Thin: No-Line Copic Coloring

Posted at 8:45 am by infoscrappingforless
      Apr 3rd

Hi crafters and welcome.  Today I am using the “Through Thick and Thin” stamp set by Gina K Designs to do some no-line Copic Coloring, which can be very scary.

I stamped my image using second generation stamping with a Copic safe Ink to give a very faint outline but one that I can see well enough to do my coloring.  I did a bit of masking to stamp my flower and leaves multipole time.

I colored my flowers using a 4 color blend concentrating on the details within the image itself to guide me as to where I need to put my shading and details.

I created a drop shadow and a frame around my images and added my sentiment.  I finished off the card with a few Dream Drops by Nuvo.

Be sure to check out the video for more information.  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative and crafty day!

    • Copic Coloring Young Love by Penny Black

Hi crafters.  I hope you are having a great weekend getting inky!!.  I am stopping by today with a project using the Young Love stamp set by Penny Black.

This image is adorable and full of so much detail, it is perfect for any level of colorist.  I left the card pretty simple as the image pretty much can carry an entire card on its own.

I colored the image and die cut it out with a stitched square die.  I layered that onto a piece of Kraft Cardstock and created a square card at 5x5.

Be sure to check out the video for tips and tricks on coloring this image.  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative and crafty day!

    • Polychromos and Gina K Designs Whimsical Wildflowers

      Mar 16th

Hello crafters and welcome.  I am sharing a card I created with the Gina K Designs stamp set called Whimsical Wildflowers.

I wanted to make this look like a chalkboard and honestly had no idea how to achieve that look.  I experimented by stamping my image with white pigment ink and colored them in with my Polychromos.  I dabbed on some of the pigment ink around my images with a dray paper towel and adhered my panel onto a white A2 size notecard.

Be sure to check out the video for more information.  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative and crafty day!

    • Colors of Spring Flavor of the Month Card Kit

Posted at 9:11 am by infoscrappingforless
      Feb 13th

Hi Crafters!!  Despite the weather right now, Spring really is right around the corner.  So, to celebrate that, I am using the Colors of Spring FOTM card kit for my card today.

I stamped my image from Stamping Bella onto my white card stock and colored her with my Copic Markers.  I added my sentiment from the SFL stamp set in the Banana Split level kit.

I adhered my pattern paper onto my card base and layered my main panel on top of that with a small black border on each.  Of course, I added some sparkle to her dress and called this one done.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative and crafty day!
