    • Always My Friend Easel Card – November FOTM Inspiration

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Nov 22nd

Hi, friends! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today and I’m still playing with the November Flavor of the Month card kit, Simply Sentimental.

I chose to make an easel card today, using the Wildflowers collection. This paper and ephemera are just gorgeous! You can see my full process video HERE to see how I assembled the card.

I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock that measured 4 1/4 by 11 inches. I scored it at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches and folded. I also cut a piece of Kraft cardstock at 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. This extra piece will act as the front panel of the card.

For the front of the card I trimmed the white pattern down to 4 1/8 by 5 3/8 inches, the peach pattern to 2 by 5 3/8 inches and then that butterfly piece was just a scrap that was about 1 1/2 by 3 inches. I pulled in that gorgeous piece of floral ephemera along with the Always My Friend ephemera sentiment.

For the bottom layer (or inside) of the card, I added piece of that pretty floral pattern that was 4 1/8 by 5 3/8 inches. To act as a holder for the easel, I added a piece of the striped pattern that was 2 by 3 3/4 inches and backed it with a piece of Kraft cardstock. I added a small strip of the peach pattern that I had left and the little butterfly ephemera. I popped this panel up on foam squares.

To finish off the inside, I added some white paper to the top part of the card to allow me some clean writing space.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed today’s project and got even more inspiration for using this wonderful kit!

    • Triple Shaker Card Using May 2020 Flavor of the Month Kit

Triple Shaker Card from Bourbon Creek Crafts using May FOTM kit

Hi, it’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts on the SFL blog today! I used elements from the May 2020 Flavor of the Month kit to make this bright and cheery triple shaker card! The colors in the Weather Together collection just make me happy when I look at them! You can see a full process video on my card HERE.

I started out by using the Sunday Stamps sketch #56 for the basic layout of my card. It was a perfect layout to use the ribbon that came in the Weather Together collection of the kit. And, I decided to turn the 3 circle elements on the sketch into small shaker windows.

Sunday Stamps... Weekly Challenge: SSC56 It's a Sketch!!

I chose the Blu Raspberry cardstock from the kit as my A2 size cardbase and the rainbow striped paper from the Weather Together collection (collection #3 in the kit) for my mat.

To make my shaker windows, I punched 1 inch circles from heavy duty white cardstock and then used a 1.5 inch scalloped circle punch to punch around the 1 inch circles to create my shaker frame. I repeated this 15 times (because I couldn’t seem to make foam work for these small frames🤦‍♀️)! I added the clear transparency circle (1.25 inch circle) under my top layer of the scalloped frame. Then I just used liquid glue to add the other 4 scalloped layers. This gave my frames some depth.

I wrapped one piece of the ribbon from the Weather Together collection around the bottom of my card mat and then the other down the left side so they overlapped. Then I adhered my card mat to the cardbase.

I punched 3 more of the scalloped circles to use as my shaker window base layer and adhered these on top of the vertical strip of ribbon. Then came the fun part of adding the sequins (and of course I added a few too many!).

I stamped the “You are awesome” sentiment from the Little Lady stamp set (from the Little Lady collection #4 from the kit), backed it with the turquoise side of one of the papers from the Weather Together collection. I decided to add it under the middle shaker window. Then I added some 1/2 inch punched circles from that same turquoise paper to the upper right hand corner of the card. I think it turned out very cheerful and would make a great encouragement or congratulations card!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed this bright and cheery project! If you have a tip for adding the dimension to tiny shaker frames, please let me know!!!!

They are all A2 size cards or 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inches. Folded into gatefold cards.

All you need are 12 cut pieces of paper and

      four score lines.

The measurements for the papers are as follows:

Hi Everyone!  Luci here from My Crazy Craft Life with a few cards using the Gina K Designs “Sweet Friendship” stamp set, Spring Patterns paper pack from Scrapping for Less, some Crystal Nuvo Drops, Stone Nuvo Drops, and a few sequins!

I colored all of these images with Prismacolor Premier Pencils, I’ve added the photos of the pencil numbers next to each photo!

Be sure to check out the video HERE!

For this first card, I stamped the image on 110lb Neenah Solar White card stock.  I am making an A2 size card I used a stitched oval die to cut out a frame for the card.  I used a powder blue color card base and cut one of the pieces of pattern paper down to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, so the piece is the size of the card with no borders. I used a stitched oval die to create a frame from the pattern paper.  Then I adhered the floral design to the card base and used foam tape to pop up the frame piece and adhered it while lining it up.  I stamped the sentiment on the same type of paper and cut the thin strip to about 4 inches and fishtailed the ends.  I adhered the sentiment to the card panel toward the bottom leaving some of the frame hole showing on the bottom.  I used Crystal Nuvo Drops and some sequins from my stash to finish off the card.

For the second card, I stamped the image on Strathmore Colored Pencil paper, the card is A2 size and I cut the back panel from pattern paper to 4in X 5 1/4in to leave a border from the dusty pink color card base I used. I used a stitched oval die to cut out the image, used “Worn Lipstick” Distress Oxide Ink to give some color just to the outer edge of the oval.  Then I cut out an oval the next size up from the same colored pencil paper and layered it behind the oval with the image.  I adhered that piece toward the bottom center of the card, stamped a sentiment from the same paper, cut out the strip, fishtailed one end and adhered it to towards the top of the card. I finished off the card by adding some Crystal Nuvo Drops.

For my final card, I stamped the image on Strathmore Colored Pencil paper, the card is A2 size and I cut the back panel from pattern paper to 4in X 5 1/4in to leave a border from the Neenah Solar White card base I used.  I then used strips to crisscross measuring  2in X 4 1/4in and 1 3/4in X 5 1/2in.  The image I cut down to 2 1/2in X 3 3/4in  and adhered it to a rectangle piece measuring 3 1/4 X 4 1/2in.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the image paper and finished it off with some Nuvo Stone Drops.

    • Coloring with Embossing Powder While We Shake Our Tail Feathers

      20190810_203856

Hi Everyone!  Luci here from My Crazy Craft Life with a few cards using the “Let’s Shake Our Tail Feathers” stamp set from Picket Fence Studios.

Be sure to check out the video HERE!

I heat embossed with colored Embossing Powder the peacock tail feathers after stamping it with Clear Embossing Ink.

I put the embossing powder down in kind of rows and then tapped off the excess.  It mixed the embossing powders that I used but I was OK with that, I even made one with the mixed up embossing powders!

I used sentiments from the set and embossed them with silver embossing powder.

For the embellishments, I used Nuvo Crystal Nuvo Drops, Glossy Dots in silver from Pink & Main, and some iridescent clear sequins.
