    • Quick and Easy Holiday Gift Tags | Call Me Crafty Al

Posted at 8:00 am by callmecraftyal
      Dec 5th

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and today’s post is a little bittersweet because it is my last as a member of the Scrapping for Less Design Team. I am super excited for Teresa and what the future holds for her, but I (like you) will miss the fabulous kits and crafty goodies she carried in the store. Make sure to leave Teresa ‘a little love’ and ‘well wishes’ in the comments. 🙂

Because you can keep using the stamps and dies from the Double Dip and Banana Split kits long after the consumables (paper, ribbon, embellishments…) are gone, I thought today I would share some quick and easy holiday gift tags using stamps and dies from the October 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit.

Making tags for gifts is a great way to use up scraps you may have laying around and if you set up your stamps with a stamp positioner, they are very easy to mass-produce by just switching out the tag die cuts.

I used some gold embossing powder on the red tag and red glitter embossing powder on the kraft tag. These are finished off easily with ribbon or twine. Super quick and easy.

    • “Hello” Clear Card | November Flavor of the Month Inspiration | Call Me Crafty Al

Posted at 8:00 am by callmecraftyal
      Nov 28th

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and I’m so excited to be back on the Scrapping for Less blog to share another card. To see the process video, make sure to click on the picture at the end of this post.

For today’s card I used Collection #4 – Wildflowers from the November 2020 Flavor of the Month Card kit. If you weren’t able to snatch up one of these fabulous kits and use my card as inspiration, you can apply this same layout and technique to SFL goodies you already own.

For the card I used some of the 6×6 patterned papers from the collection, along with some scraps and the coordinating ephemera.

Once I cut down the patterned papers, they were put into/onto a clear card base. To finish up the card I created an embellishment cluster with the ephemera for the focal point.

For today’s card I used one of the collections from the upcoming November 2020 Flavor of the Month Card kit. I can’t wait to share more of the kit with you this coming Friday during the Release Blog / Video Hop.

I kept the card pretty clean and simple and I think this layout will become one of my favorites.

    • Autumn Blessings Sweater Card | Call Me Crafty Al

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and I’m so excited to be back on the Scrapping for Less blog to share another card. To see the process video, make sure to click on the picture at the end of this post.

For today’s card I used Scrapping for Less’s Cozy Fall Paper Pack and Autumn Blessings word die, along with the Sweater Weather stamp set. The stamp set is currently only $3, so make sure to head on over to the online store!

A look at the SFL supplies I used for today’s card.

For the card layout I used the dimensions from the October 2020 SheetLoad of Cards. Instead of making multiples, like the instructions call for, I used the single card dimensions. I thought this layout really showcased the patterned papers.

I stamped the sweater from the stamp set with Versamark, heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and then fussy cut around it – leaving a small ivory border.

Because the sentiment is an intricate die cut, I used the negative part to help me adhere the words to my card. Once all of the pieces were in place, I carefully removed the negative and only the glued down sentiment remained.

    • Sneak Peek #1 | October 2020 Flavor of the Month Card Kit

      Oct 24th

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and I’m so excited to be back to share the 1st SNEAK PEEK at the October 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit!

The upcoming kit is full of Christmas and Winter-themed goodies – both traditional and modern. I have already fallen in love with the tag dies that come with the Banana Split level!

A look at the products I used for today’s card.

For my card today I used papers and stamps from Collection #3 and a couple of the items (including that die set I already spoke of) from the Banana Split level.

This card came together so quickly and easily using goodies from the upcoming kit.

The layout for today’s card came from the March 2020 SheetLoad of Cards, but instead of making nine cards per the instructions I just made a single card.

See how I created this card on the Scrapping for Less YouTube channel!

    • “Live Your Best Life” Card

Posted at 8:00 am by callmecraftyal

The carefree lady on the scooter and quote really spoke to me when creating this card.

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and I’m so excited to be back to share some more inspiration using Scrapping for Less products!

A look at the Scrapping for Less supplies I used for today’s cards.

For today’s card I used SFL’s Best Life 6×6 Paper Pack and their Live Your Best Life stamp set. I thought the cute scooter image would be fun to color and the main sentiment in the set jumped out and grabbed me on this one. Let’s all live our best lives!!

      A coloring close up.

I colored my image with real brush markers and blended it out with a water brush. This is a quick and easy way to get some color and shading on an image.

Creating a slot for the sentiment.

For my sentiment strip I used a ribbon slot paper punch to create a slot for the sentiment strip to go through. This way I didn’t cover up any of the adorable image, but could still have the sentiment front and center. The punch wasn’t quite wide enough for the my sentiment strip, so I punched it 1.5 times. 🙂

Process video on the SFL YouTube Channel!

    • “Owl always look out for you!” Card | Colored Pencils & Masking | Call Me Crafty Al

Posted at 8:00 am by callmecraftyal
      Oct 10th

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and I’m so excited to be back to share some more Fall inspiration using some Scrapping for Less products!

A look at the Scrapping for Less products I used today.

For my card today I used the Neutrals Vol. 1 paper pack, along with the Give a Hoot? stamp set to create a cute, quick and easy card. The sentiment I chose was “Owl always look out for you!” and could be sent out for many occasions/situations.

A look at my coloring process.

To color my images today I used my homemade gamsol marker along with some colored pencils. This is a great way to smooth out those colored pencil lines without paper stumps.

      Revealing the layers.

I decided my owl looked like it was hanging in space, so I brought in the tree from the stamp set and turned it into a branch. To do this I had to do some masking – I just love the reveal.

      The finished card.

To finis the card off I stamped my sentiment onto a fishtail strip and added some yellow gems to match the beak and feet. If you would like to see how I made today’s card, please click on the image below…

    • Hey There Pumpkin Card Set | September FOTM Inspiration | Call Me Crafty Al

      Oct 3rd

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and I’m so excited to be back to share some more inspiration using the September 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit. I am LOVING this kit!!

A look at the supplies for today’s cards.

I chose four papers and the stamp from Collection #4 – Pumpkin Patches and Harvest Wishes. The browns/blues and those trucks just screamed ‘make a card with me!!’. 😉

For my layout today I used the sketch from the July 2020 SheetLoad of Cards. To color my images I used colored pencils and blended it with a homemade gamsol marker.

A look at the finished cards

    • Happy Pumpkin Spice Season | Card Trio | Call Me Crafty Al

Posted at 8:00 am by callmecraftyal
      Sep 30th

Hello Crafty Friends – It’s Alicia from @callmecraftyal – thanks so much for stopping by! I am here today to share a trio of cards using some Fall goodies from Scrapping for Less

I put out a request for help on my YouTube channel over the weekend. I shared with viewers my new Scrapping for Less goodies and asked them which paper pad and stamp set they would like to see me use for my video today.

The supplies for my ‘viewer choice’ card.

It was a close race, but the winners were the Cozy Fall Paper Pad and Teresa Talks Fall stamp set. I have to say I was very pleased with the winner. I just love that main focal image in the stamp set and the texture on those Fall papers is gorgeous! Because the SFL papers are 6×6 I decided to use the August 2020 SheetLoad of Cards sketch for my layout.

I used colored pencils and gamsol for my focal image.

Once I had all of my papers cut per the instructions I stamped and colored up 3 of the girl images from the stamp set. For coloring today I used colored pencils and my homemade gamsol blender pen. I just like the way the Gamsol removes the colored pencil lines.

      A trio of Fall cards.

Once the images were colored and fussy-cut I adhered them to the sentiment block with art glitter glue and popped them up on the card front with foam tape.

If you would like to see how I made these cards, you can check out my YouTube video by clicking on the image below.

    • September 2020 FOTM Kit | Sneak Peek #1

Posted at 8:00 am by callmecraftyal
      Sep 19th

Hello Crafty Friends – It’s Alicia from @callmecraftyal – thanks so much for stopping by!

I am here today to share a sneak peek at the September 2020 Flavor of the Month Card kit!! I have FALLen in love with this kit already!

A little peek at the supplies I used for today’s card.

As soon as I saw the adorable gnome in the stamp set shown above, I just knew I had to paper piece it for a card. I stamped the image on various patterned papers from the collection and then cut out each piece and assembled him. I think this look went really well with his patched-up hat.

This gnome stamp was perfect for paper-piecing.

For the background of the card I used a lot of white space because I really wanted Mr. Gnome to stand out. Before using an apple embossing folder on the white mat, I stamped the ‘Happy Fall’ sentiment from the same set.

To finish the card, I adhered the gnome to the card front with some foam tape and added 3 enamel dots from the kit.

Make sure to stop by each day this week for more sneak peeks from the team.

      I hope you’re having a crafty day!
