    • Christmas Tags and Tag Sets

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Dec 6th

Hello, it’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts today! And, I am sharing my final project share for Scrapping for Less. {sigh} I’m so going to miss Scrapping for Less and their awesome papers and stamps, but I’m so happy for Teresa and her next stage of life!

At one point Teresa had asked those of us on the design team what our favorite paper collection was. And, that was a really hard question to answer because I’ve had so many favorites! I think I was finally able to narrow it down to 3! Do you have a favorite collection or stamp set from Scrapping for Less?

Today I decided to revisit the October Flavor of the Month Card kit. I hadn’t had a chance to play with the Merry Express Delivery stamp set much so I wanted to have some fun with that one. I also used the custom tag die set, the white tags from the kit and some scraps from the kit. You can watch my full process video HERE.

For my first tag, I actually made a set of 8 tags using the Reindeer Express stamp and the largest tag die. I also made a set of 8 tags with the North Pole Midnight Express stamp and the 2nd largest tag die. I stamped both of these tags on some white cardstock and finished them off with some red and white twine.

I also made 2 tags using the white tags from the kit and some patterned paper scraps. I trimmed my scraps down to the size of the tags and glued the patterned paper to the tags. I used 2 other sentiments from the stamp set – Merry & Bright and Warm Wishes – to decorate the fronts of these tags. I also used the To and From stamps on the backs of the tags. I finished off the tags with some sequins and Chalk Stick Nuvo drops.

Thanks for stopping by today! I always love making tags with scraps and had fun with these tags today. I am so blessed to have had this opportunity to work with Scrapping for Less this year and thank you all for supporting us! I have hoarded my card kits over the years, so I will still get to enjoy Scrapping for Less as I work on using up those kits.

      Have a crafty day!

    • Always My Friend Easel Card – November FOTM Inspiration

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Nov 22nd

Hi, friends! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today and I’m still playing with the November Flavor of the Month card kit, Simply Sentimental.

I chose to make an easel card today, using the Wildflowers collection. This paper and ephemera are just gorgeous! You can see my full process video HERE to see how I assembled the card.

I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock that measured 4 1/4 by 11 inches. I scored it at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches and folded. I also cut a piece of Kraft cardstock at 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. This extra piece will act as the front panel of the card.

For the front of the card I trimmed the white pattern down to 4 1/8 by 5 3/8 inches, the peach pattern to 2 by 5 3/8 inches and then that butterfly piece was just a scrap that was about 1 1/2 by 3 inches. I pulled in that gorgeous piece of floral ephemera along with the Always My Friend ephemera sentiment.

For the bottom layer (or inside) of the card, I added piece of that pretty floral pattern that was 4 1/8 by 5 3/8 inches. To act as a holder for the easel, I added a piece of the striped pattern that was 2 by 3 3/4 inches and backed it with a piece of Kraft cardstock. I added a small strip of the peach pattern that I had left and the little butterfly ephemera. I popped this panel up on foam squares.

To finish off the inside, I added some white paper to the top part of the card to allow me some clean writing space.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed today’s project and got even more inspiration for using this wonderful kit!

    • November Flavor of the Month Sneak Peek Thank You Card

Posted at 8:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Nov 15th

Hello, friends! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today and I get to share with you another sneak peek of the new November 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit, Simply Sentimental! You can watch my full process video HERE.

I used collection #1, Thank You So Much, for my card today. I used the Carbon Copy gray cardstock from the kit as my A2 cardbase. I cut the peach polka dot pattern down as my card mat at 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I pulled out one of the floral patterns to layer on top of the polka dots and cut that panel down to 2 3/4 by 4 inches. I used the back side of a scrap from the floral pattern on the left hand side and that piece measured 2 x 2 3/4 inches.

I layered the white sheer ribbon from the collection all the way across the front of my card mat panel. I stamped the thank you sentiment from the Thank You So Much stamp set in this collection on a 1 3/4 inch circle of white cardstock and backed it with a 2 inch scalloped circle of the peach polka dot pattern. I fussy cut out 2 flowers from 2 other floral patterns in this collection to create a little grouping around my sentiment.

I also used the double fish tail Banner Die that comes with the Banana Split kit level to create a little fishtail strip that’s layered on top of the ribbon. I finished my card front off with some white enamel dots from the kit as well!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my sneak peek today! Please be sure to check back each day for more peeks at this month’s kit and come back this Saturday for the blog hop and debut of the full Simply Sentimental card kit!

    • Simple But Elegant Christmas Card – October 2020 FOTM

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Nov 7th

Hello crafty friends! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today! I made a simple but elegant card using the Classic Cardinals collection from the October 2020 Flavor of the Month kit. I love the contrast of the red with the white and gray!

For my card I used the Classic Cardinals collection from the kit along with the stencil from the Banana Split kit level and some white cardstock. You can watch my full process video HERE.

I used the pattern that had the solid gray in the middle with the birdhouses on the top and bottom. I did trim out each section so that I could piece it back together so it would fit a standard A2 size card (4.25×5.5 inches).

I used some Candied Apple distress ink and a makeup sponge along with the Merry Christmas part of the stencil to create my sentiment on the solid gray section.

I cut a piece of white cardstock down to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches and layered the patterned paper pieces back together on that cardstock piece. I used the red ribbon in this collection to cover where the 2 papers met.

Then I finished the card off with a red ribbon bow, some off white enamel dots (from the collection), and some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter drops on the roofs of the birdhouses!

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the sales happening at Scrapping for Less right now!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a crafty day!

    • Cozy Sweater Fall Cards – No Paper Scraps Left

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Nov 6th

Hello! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here. Today I’m sharing how I made 2 Fall cards using 2 pieces of patterned paper, some stamps, a die and some cardstock. And, I had no scraps of the patterned paper left! If you know me at all, you know I really hate to leave any scraps behind!

To see my process and get dimensions for these cards, you can watch my video HERE.

For my cards I’m using the 6×6 Woodland Critters paper collection from Scrapping for Less, the Sweater Weather stamp set from Paper Sweeties and the Autumn Blessings die from Scrapping for Less.

I also pulled in some Kraft cardstock for my card bases and some brown cardstock from my stash.

I cut my Kraft cardstock down into 2 pieces that were 5.5×4.25 inches (your standard A2 size card) but then I trimmed a half an inch off the right side of the top card flap. This allows just a little peek into the inside of the card and adds a dimensional look to the card front without any actual dimension.

For my first card I used one of the stamps from the Sweater Weather stamp set and the Autumn Blessings die.

For the second card I used the sweater image and the cozy and sweater weather sentiments from the Sweater Weather stamp set.

These were fun, quick cards and I love the little sweater weather stamp set!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my Fall sweater weather cards!

    • Paper Pieced Owl Using the Give a Hoot Stamp Set

Posted at 11:50 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Oct 18th

Hello! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today and I’ve got a fun little paper piecing card to share! Pink is my favorite color, so I was excited to be able to incorporate it into my owl today. You can watch the full process video HERE.

I used 2 different paper collections for my card. The pink plaid that I used for my card mat is from the Rustic Watermelon collection and the pink and brown polka dot papers came from the Cool Treats collection.

I used several stamps from the Give a Hoot stamp set and the largest rectangle die from the Mod Die set.

I stamped my large owl image on the brown polka dot pattern, the pink polka dot pattern and some white cardstock. Then I just fussy cut out all the pieces and layered them together. I did color up the beak and talons of the owl with an orange marker.

I also stamped one of the small flower images from the stamp set onto the pink polka dot pattern and fussy cut those out. I embellished those flowers with some white enamel dots from a past Flavor of the Month card kit.

I stamped the You’re a Hoot sentiment onto my white rectangle and then added some Glossy Accents to the owl’s eyes.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a crafty day!

    • Happy Pumpkin Spice Season Slimline Card

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Oct 11th

Hello, it’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts back today! I’m making a slimline card today to play along with the October 2020 Scrapping for Less card sketch challenge!

I used the Teresa Talks Fall stamp set along with the chevron patterned paper from the Neutrals Vol. 1 paper collection.

I also used the SFL Sketch Challenge #8 card sketch. You can see my full process video HERE.

The card sketch makes it easy and gives you all the measurements. I used a navy cardstock panel as my mat and then cut the patterned paper into 3 inch strips. I just trimmed those strips down so that the patterned paper would look like it created one solid 3 by 8 inch panel on top of the navy card mat.

I used a 2 3/4 inch stitched circle die to cut out my colored image and then a 3 inch circle die to cut another piece of the navy cardstock to mat my image. This circle then covered the seam where my 2 patterned paper pieces meet up on the card.

I added an orange strip to play off the orange in my colored image and used the sentiment “Happy Pumpkin Spice Season” from the stamp set. I finished off my card with some orange enamel dots left over from a recent Flavor of the Month card kit.

Thanks for checking out my card today! I hope you’re all having a crafty day!

    • Golden Beach Mini Album and a Bonus Card

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Oct 4th

Hello friends! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today and I’m excited to share my fun little project with you! I am using the new Golden Beach paper collection to make a mini scrapbook album and a bonus card with the scraps!

If you’d like to watch how I made my mini album and card, you can view the full process video HERE.

Along with the paper collection, I used some 5 1/2 inch square Kraft envelopes from my stash, the At the Beach Sentiments stamp set and some sequins from a past Flavor of the Month card kit.

I used the envelopes as the base of my album, adhering the flap of one envelope into another envelope to make a set of pages. I used Art Glitter Glue for this step. You just repeat the process until you have the amount of pages you want. Once you get your last envelope added on, you take the flap from the very first envelope and adhere it down to the very last envelope you added. You can see the full process in the video.

The start of my album, inserting one flap into another envelope.

Once my album was put together, I trimmed the patterned paper down to 5 3/8 square for both the covers and inner pages. This allowed a small Kraft border to be visible around my patterned paper. I decorated the pages with the scrap strips I had left from cutting down the 6×6 paper, along with the stamped sentiments and images.

I adhered my decorated pages to the album with Scor-tape. I finished the album off with some sequins throughout, just to add a little pop of bling.

Once I finished the album, I realized I had a bunch of scrap strips leftover, so I decided to make a card to use those pieces up.

I cut down a piece of cardstock to 3 3/4 by 5 inches. I added some adhesive across the whole front of this panel and then started laying the strips down diagonally across my panel. I added a piece of cardstock behind this panel as a card mat. I used one of the At the Beach sentiments that I had stamped but not used for the album as the sentiment for this card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed seeing the Golden Beach paper as well as my quick little mini album! Have a great day!

    • September 2020 FOTM Inspiration – Sweet Sunflower

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Sep 27th

Hello! It’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts here today! I was having fun with the September 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit, so I decided to make another card featuring the sunflowers! You can watch my full process in this video.

I decided to use another sketch from the sketch download sheet. However, I adjusted the card base to a standard A2 size card base at 5 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches. And, since I was using the image of the sunflower that I had left over from my blog hop cards, I went with a circle element in the center instead of an oval.

I used the yellow honeycomb pattern as my triangles in the corner and ended up cutting a 2 inch square and then cut it in half to get my triangles.

I used a 3 1/4 inch stitched circle die to cut out my sunflower image and a 3 1/2 inch stitched circle die to cut out the yellow mat to go behind it.

I finished the card off with a little knot using the leftover white sheer ribbon from this collection.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you got some more inspiration for using your September kit! If you are interested in purchasing this kit, you can find out more about it HERE. Be sure to act fast, though, because the kits have been selling out pretty quickly!

      Have a crafty day!
