    • Beth | Design Team Tribute Week

      Dec 13th

We were delighted to have Beth join us in May, it feels as though she’s been a part of the team for a long time. She fit right in with us, perfectly.

Beth is the Queen of using up her stash and prides herself on making all kinds of different types of paper crafted projects. She’s a master of paper!  There isn’t anything she can’t make out of paper.  She’s fantastic at thinking of unique and one of a kind projects.

She also has a successful business of her own, Bourbon Creek Crafts, making lots of different types of crafts.

It was a pleasure getting to know her and an absolute joy working with her. I wish her all the best.

      Hugs,

      Stacy

      From Teresa:

Beth is another customer turned Design Team member… I happened upon her YouTube channel doing a search for Scrapping for Less kit videos…well, I was hooked immediately! Not on just her Scrapping for Less kit video but all the other content on her channel. Let’s just say she does not put out a video I do not take the time to watch. I asked her to guest design in January of this year and then pretty quickly decided we needed her talents on our time.

Beth, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your talent with us. I am looking forward to continuing to work with you this year on a different level.

Here are a few our our favorite projects from Beth:

Alicia, from Call Me Crafty Al, is our newest member of the Scrapping for Less Design Team having joined us in September.   You probably know her best from YouTube and her line of SheetLoad of Cards monthly card sketches.

Alicia has been a true professional and an amazing talent.  Her dedication to her crafting is important to her and it resonates in the quality of her projects.

Scrapping for Less has been thrilled to have her representing our brand. I hope to continue working with her in the future.

      Hugs,

      Stacy

      A few words from Teresa,

Stacy turned me onto Alicia’s sheetload of cards last June. And boy was I hooked…we began doing a sheetload or 2 each month, then joined Alicia’s team in January of 2020…and then fast forward to this summer, I asked Alicia to guest design for us. She did a fantastic job and I knew right away we needed her on our team. So, I asked her to join in September. She has brought so much talent to our team and in the short time she was with us was very helpful in both growing the brand and helping to grow our YouTube channel.

      Crafty Hugs,

      Teresa

Scrapping for Less has been blessed with Crystal’s talent, loyalty and friendship for many years. Besides myself, she has been on the team the longest. She joined us when Scrapping for Less just started the Flavor of the Month Card Kit and the online store. She’s been a source of stability and consistency all this time. There’s been no bigger cheerleader for SFL than Crystal.

She has designed several stamp sets that were featured in the card kits. She also took over running the Facebook Show n Share group.  She designs card sketches and challenges for that group.  She’s worn many hats over the years to which we are eternally grateful.

Crystal is a super sweet person with an incredible talent. We have been blessed to have her in the Scrapping for Less family.  Personally I will miss working with her tremendously. I wish her all the luck and best wishes in her future crafting journey.

      Love and hugs,

      Stacy

A few kind words from Teresa:

I “met” Crystal through a post on Stamp Junkies…she was looking for someone to do something as a graphic designer. I was just getting into that because of SFL so I reached out to here. She was a joy to work with then and has been a joy to work with ever since.

I have had the pleasure to watch her talent grow and see her work blossom. I have also had the immense privilege of having her design stamps for Scrapping for Less. I am thrilled that I had such a wonderful opportunity to work with such a talented lady. Crystal, I will forever be in your corner!

      Hugs,

      Teresa

Where do I start?  Lol. Kim is a hoot!  I’ve known Kim since the beginning of Scrapping for Less. We’ve been on 3 trips together to attend Creativation in Phoenix.  She’s a super sweet, fun and carefree person.

During the pandemic Kim, Teresa and I have FaceTimed an average of a couple of times a week. We generally chat and craft together, making cards. We love to follow and recreate other artist’s sketches of our favorite collections and come up with original designs ourselves.

It’s been ay real joy to get to know her and I consider her a dear friend.

      Hugs,

      Stacy

This has to be the hardest tribute to write. As some of you may know Kim was my business partner for a while in SFL…Amazing times! But I want to share the memory of when she decided it was time for her to step down. We have this little saying between the two of us “brutal honesty” which simply means we can tell each other anything. I could sense she was needing to step down but she didn’t want to tell me…so I asked, Brutal Honesty? NOTHING can damage this friendship if you want to step back ok? Well, it just so happened that was the trigger she was waiting for. So, although Kim has not been a partner for the last year and a half she has been a valued Design Team member!

There are so many examples of her loyalty and dedication I could pull from. She is absolutely the best friend and I am very thankful that she exists in my life!

I Love you to the Moon and Back!

      Dec 9th

Today is Wednesday which means it’s Luci’s day!  This awesome lady is wonderful at making fancy folded and interactive cards.  Her cards are beautifully made and are stunning to look at.

One thing I can say about Luci is that she is dependable and steadfast. You can always count on her!

I’m so sad that I never got to meet her in person. Maybe someday.   I wish her lots of luck and good things in her future.

It was a pleasure working with her.  ~Stacy

Now a few words from Teresa:

Luci has been a constant with the Scrapping for Less Flavor of the Month kit. She was another Design Team member that went from being a customer to a designer. I saw her talent right away.

One thing I want to say about Luci is she has always been eager to step up and go above and beyond. She carried the “Revisiting the Kit” series on our channel solely until another design team member stepped up to join her. She also stepped up and helped with the Christmas All Year long series.

Dependable and extremely talented woman right there!!! Thank you so much for all of your dedication and support Luci!

      Crafty Hugs, Teresa

Let’s start Stacy’s tribute off by hearing what all the Design Team as she affectionately calls “the girls” And oh is she fiercely protective of them!

Let me start off by saying that anyone that know Stacy knows she is a Doodlebug fanatic and loves everything about them. It was such a pleasure to be able to see her meet the people behind the company and to be able to see their lovely set up!

      Stacy and her Doodlebug fix!

      Christine starts off saying:

Stacy is such an inspiration. Not only is she talented but she is one of the kindest and most generous people I have met. I loved getting to know her at Creativation 2019 and checking out new products with her and let’s not forget the fun creating make and takes. I absolutely love her take on pattern paper! She always makes me fall in love with paper pads I previously didn’t think too much about. I’m so glad she reached out to me! Not only because she introduced me to SFL but she quickly became a friend who shares my love for card making.

Beth says this about Stacy: I haven’t known Stacy long but she has been so welcoming and kind to me! And I love her creativity!

Crystal has these sweet words to say: Stacy is such a sweet, helpful and encouraging person. She has been the absolute greatest Design Team Coordinator… but more than that, she’s become a wonderful crafty friend. I’m so thankful that Scrapping for Less has brought Stacy into my life! I’m always inspired by her creativity and her latest designs for the Create-a-Dex dies made me her biggest fan!

Stacy designed these for Scrapping for Less! I was so glad I could have her dream come true of designing and producing these!

Kimberly says these words: Stacy is an amazing design team coordinator! She is devoted to creating a welcoming atmosphere and keeping things running smoothly. Stacy is an incredibly talented designer and card maker. We have been truly blessed to have her as part of our team!

Luci has the nicest words: Stacy has been an awesome Design Team Coordinator, keeping us up-to-date and reminding us what needed to be done and when. Her paper crafting skills are top-notch and I have so enjoyed viewing her creations each week. Wrangling such a diverse group of crafty souls I’m sure isn’t easy but she has always done it with grace. Thank you.

Alicia our newest team member says: Stacy has been such a wonderful design team coordinator. She is always there to help with any questions and is great at keeping us up to date on all communications. Not only is she a great leader, she is a wonderful artist as well.

I am totally blessed to have met this wonderful friend! Stacy has become such a dear friend and I am so glad a little mishap in our Facebook group caused us to come together. She went from being my top customer to a best friend. She loves SFL fiercely and did anything she could to help promote and support this company! I will be super glad when this Pandemic is over so I can travel to Minnesota and love on her and shower that sweet little girl of hers with love as well! Thanks so much Stacy my friend…I am forever grateful that you are such a fabulous friend!

Stay tuned tomorrow for another tribute!

      Dec 7th

We are starting our last and final week of blog posts for Scrapping for Less. We are taking each design team member and doing a tribute to them on their day of the week.

I’m sure you have gotten used to seeing Christine Patterson from Pattercrafts post on the Scrapping for Less blog on Mondays so it was just fitting to start the tribute week out with her.

I’d like to tell you more about this adorable lady. She is just the sweetest and kindest person you could ever meet. Her contagious smile lights up the room! She is very talented and truly enjoys creating beautiful things.

I came across Christine on YouTube when she first started making videos. She had posted a video about an older Doodlebug collection that she was trying to find. I had an extra paper pad that I then sent to her. After that I told Teresa about her, who loved Christine and her work. Next thing you know she was invited to join the team. We just knew she had a blossoming talent. We feel so honored to have been with her on her journey to grow and develop her skills and her social media presence.

In 2019 she joined us in Phoenix for Creativation representing Scrapping for Less. It was a super fun week. I got to know Christine during our time paired up together that week.

I’m super excited to continue to follow Christine on social media. She’s become a great friend and I wish her all the luck in the world.

      Best Wishes,

      Stacy

Next up, Teresa has some kinds words to share about Christine.

After Stacy introduced me to Christine I began watching her channel and her SFL kit videos were a big hit with me. I loved how she took the kit and combined it all together to create her last and final cards. It seemed like the right thing to do to invite Christine to join our team when we had an opening.

Then, it just so happened that Christine and her husband Russ were also going to be attending Kathy Racoosin’s Coloring Road trip at My Favorite Things in Eustis, FL. Kimberly and I were ecstatic we were going to be able to meet our new Design Team Member. What a blast we had that day!

      Lunch and a FLIGHT…What a fantastic smile.

Christine also accompanied us to Phoenix to attend Creativation, our industry trade show. What an adventurous, sleep deprived, team building and life changing amazing week we had.  I am so thrilled and honored that through owning this company I was able to meet such a sweet and
wonderfully talented person. Christine, I love you girl!

She was always excited for the next kit!

      Hugs,

      Teresa

    • Christmas Tags and Tag Sets

Posted at 7:00 am by bourboncreekcrafts
      Dec 6th

Hello, it’s Beth from Bourbon Creek Crafts today! And, I am sharing my final project share for Scrapping for Less. {sigh} I’m so going to miss Scrapping for Less and their awesome papers and stamps, but I’m so happy for Teresa and her next stage of life!

At one point Teresa had asked those of us on the design team what our favorite paper collection was. And, that was a really hard question to answer because I’ve had so many favorites! I think I was finally able to narrow it down to 3! Do you have a favorite collection or stamp set from Scrapping for Less?

Today I decided to revisit the October Flavor of the Month Card kit. I hadn’t had a chance to play with the Merry Express Delivery stamp set much so I wanted to have some fun with that one. I also used the custom tag die set, the white tags from the kit and some scraps from the kit. You can watch my full process video HERE.

For my first tag, I actually made a set of 8 tags using the Reindeer Express stamp and the largest tag die. I also made a set of 8 tags with the North Pole Midnight Express stamp and the 2nd largest tag die. I stamped both of these tags on some white cardstock and finished them off with some red and white twine.

I also made 2 tags using the white tags from the kit and some patterned paper scraps. I trimmed my scraps down to the size of the tags and glued the patterned paper to the tags. I used 2 other sentiments from the stamp set – Merry & Bright and Warm Wishes – to decorate the fronts of these tags. I also used the To and From stamps on the backs of the tags. I finished off the tags with some sequins and Chalk Stick Nuvo drops.

Thanks for stopping by today! I always love making tags with scraps and had fun with these tags today. I am so blessed to have had this opportunity to work with Scrapping for Less this year and thank you all for supporting us! I have hoarded my card kits over the years, so I will still get to enjoy Scrapping for Less as I work on using up those kits.

      Have a crafty day!

    • Quick and Easy Holiday Gift Tags | Call Me Crafty Al

Posted at 8:00 am by callmecraftyal
      Dec 5th

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s Alicia a.k.a Crafty Al and today’s post is a little bittersweet because it is my last as a member of the Scrapping for Less Design Team. I am super excited for Teresa and what the future holds for her, but I (like you) will miss the fabulous kits and crafty goodies she carried in the store. Make sure to leave Teresa ‘a little love’ and ‘well wishes’ in the comments. 🙂

Because you can keep using the stamps and dies from the Double Dip and Banana Split kits long after the consumables (paper, ribbon, embellishments…) are gone, I thought today I would share some quick and easy holiday gift tags using stamps and dies from the October 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit.

Making tags for gifts is a great way to use up scraps you may have laying around and if you set up your stamps with a stamp positioner, they are very easy to mass-produce by just switching out the tag die cuts.

I used some gold embossing powder on the red tag and red glitter embossing powder on the kraft tag. These are finished off easily with ribbon or twine. Super quick and easy.

If you would like to see the full process, please click on the image above to be taken to the video on YouTube.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a crafty day,
      Alicia

    • A Little Christmas Inspiration and a Farewell

Posted at 9:00 am by Crystal O. Minkler
      Dec 4th

Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with my final blog post for Scrapping for Less. I have a quick card to share that I created using the October 2020 FOTM and then I’d like to go down memory lane a little bit with you. This is kind of a long post, but it’s mostly pictures… with a little chatter. I hope you’ll stick around until the end.

I just love the Merry Christmas sentiment in the Christmas Elements stencil that was included the in the Banana Split subscription of the October 2020 FOTM card kit. I actually used it and had planned on sharing an extra card for the hop and reveal for the October kit but I didn’t have enough time. So I set it aside for another day. I have a quick video sharing my process for this card.
You can check that out… here.
I really love how this turned out! I hope you like it too!
      Now for some reminiscing…
Way back in August of 2017 Teresa and Kim asked me to guest design for Scrapping for Less. This is my second card as a guest designer. Why didn’t I share my first card? Well… I like this one more. lol
After a short guest design gig, Teresa and Kim asked me to join the design team and I was so elated!!
I’m very grateful for the opportunity that Teresa and Kim gave me… it was literally the beginning of a crazy crafty journey that has led me to design for other companies and start my YouTube channel AND to illustrate some of my very own physical and digital stamps.
So I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Teresa and Kim!!
Now I’m going to share some of my favorite cards over the 3-1/2 years that I’ve designed for SFL and throw in some of my favorite cards created with my own stamps that I designed for SFL too.
One of my absolute favorite cards… a slimline before the latest slimline trend! I colored and paper pieced this sweet scene way back in November 2018. You can check out the original post here… Have a Magical Christmas.
Another favorite… the black base and pop of Fall colors really make this card so beautiful. You can check out the original post here… Fall Breeze card.
Now this card has a special place in my heart as the first ever stamp that I designed for Scrapping for Less. I really enjoyed the process going back and forth with Teresa and Kim designing this beautiful stamp. You can check out the original post here… Nordic Winter card.
      Bright Fairy Wishes
      Fairy Warm Winter
      Bright Winter Wishes
I was so honored when Teresa asked me to design the first ever stamp sets to be released outside of the card kits. I had so much fun designing the adorable Winter Fairies and the coordinating Fairy House. So much fun to illustrate and then to see them as physical stamps… awesome! There’s still a few sets available in the shop if you’d like to add these to your collection {click the links above}!!

What little girl doesn’t dream of being Cinderella?! I had a blast drawing these glass slippers. You can check out the original post here… It’s All About the Girls. And there’s still some of these sweet Glass Slippers in the shop!

Often times, Teresa would just give me a general idea for the stamp and let me run with it. I sure love the way this one turned out… I drew it with my daughter in mind. You can check out the original post here… Layered Stencils for CAS Cards. This cutie is still available in the shop… Live Your Best Life.
Another fun one that turned out really cute. Here’s the original post… City Streets and Country Roads. There’s only a couple of these left in the shop… Country Roads.
I had to giggle a little when Teresa shared her idea for this stamp. A chicken blowing bubble gum…?! Haha!! Definitely a fun request and one that I enjoyed drawing. Here’s the original post for this one… Bubble Galore. You can add this hilarious stamp to your collection here… Blowing Bubbles.
And the last stamp that I designed for Scrapping for Less… I adore snowmen so this one I will cherish forever! Here’s the original post for this one… Christmas is Covered.
Well… that was a little long, but I hope you enjoyed reminiscing with me. I do have one last card to share and this one is my absolute favorite card of all time while creating for Scrapping for Less…
I love love love this card! The design is so pretty. I’m so happy with the coloring on the die cut pieces. And that sentiment speaks to my soul! You can check out the original post here… City Streets and Country Roads Sneak Peek. This die is actually still in the shop!! Get it here… Flowery Camera die!!
Okay. Well, I’ve delayed the end here long enough. Thank you for following my crafty journey while with Scrapping for Less. If you’re interested, you can continue following my crafty journey here:
