Hello there crafty friend! Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie with the last sneak peek of the February 2020 Flavor of the Month card kit called It’s All About the Girls!! Oh my goodness… I was so excited to see this beautiful face stamp when I received my card kit!! I couldn’t wait to ink her up and color!!
When I was looking through the papers in the first collection, I had the idea for this card form in my mind. I trimmed the striped layer of paper down to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″ and ran the rose paper through my big shot with a stitched rectangle die. I adhered the papers together and then wrapped the wide black ribbon around and tied a faux bow… it’s actually just a knot and I trimmed the tails to make it look like a bow. Now, I will mention that the black ribbon is from my stash and not included in the collection. I couldn’t resist… the design called for it! Anywho, I stamped the beautiful image onto white card stock with Memento Tuxedo black ink (masking the lips) and then I stamped the lips with a light pink dye ink. I then colored the image with the following copic markers:
Skin ~ E000, E00, E21
Hair ~ B41, C3, C5, C7, C9
Lips ~ R81, R83, R85, RV29
I wanted to take the shine on her lips just one more step so I added some glossy accents… Wow! It really made a difference! I love how it turned out! I die cut another piece of white card stock with the Frilly Lace Nested Rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs. I trimmed down the colored image to fit on the die cut piece, fussy cutting around the top of the face and hair and then I adhered it down.
I popped up the main panel with foam squares. To finish off the card, I added a few of the enamel dots included in the collection and then added the sentiment sticker, also included in the collection.
Hello Everyone! I’m super excited to share this sneak peek with you today. February’s card kit is “It’s all about the girls” and this card was created using Collection 3.
This card is a quick and simple card that requires little supplies. I trimmed down 2 pieces of pattern paper from the collection and used a piece of ephemera as the focal point. I finished the card using 3 enamel dots, also from the collection.
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks this week and the full reveal is Saturday, Feb. 29 at 12:00a.m. I’ll be staying up late on Friday to check out all the inspiration from the design team.

This card design came together quickly using border dies and the pretty grass patterned papers in the Spring Fling paper pack! I die cut the clouds from white card stock and adhered them to the top portion of a piece of blue card stock measuring 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″. I then adhered the die cut grassy hills to the bottom portion of the card. I set that aside and inked up the cute little boy stamp and the kite with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
I colored the stamped images with the following copic markers:
Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair ~ E55, E59
Clothes ~ N0, N1, N5, R000, R14, B91, B95, B97
Kite ~ R000, R14, Y000, Y06
I fussy cut the colored images leaving a little border… giving the images a little more dimension on the card. I adhered the kite to the card and then popped up the boy and sentiment with foam squares. I adhered the entire panel onto a white A2 card base. I love how this turned out! I hope you do too!
So glad you stopped in for a glimpse at Sunny Studio Stamps “A Good Egg” stamp set. This stamp set packs a punch! There are just so many great images to be used to make cards. Great stamp set for Easter but also friendship cards or just telling someone you love what a good egg they are.
Thank you for stopping by to check out the blog. I hope you have some time to take a look around at previous posts as well there are some beautiful cards and projects on the blog.
This is an A2 size card or 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inches. I stamped and the puppy images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on some of the pattern paper and fussy cut them out. I popped them up with some foam tape.
I cut a panel of 110lb Neenah white cardstock to 5 1/2 X 4 inches, stamped and masked the scene stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink I used Distress Oxide Inks to blend the sky (Tumbled Glass) and road (Black Soot & Iced Spruce), and I used a cloud stencil for the sky. I colored the grass area, tree, and bench with Copic markers and I stamped the grass sections from the stamp set with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Ink. I cut the panel down to 5 1/4 X 3 3/4 inches.
I cut a piece of the pattern paper to 5 3/8 X 4 1/8 inches for the back panel.
If you want to make scene cards but are not sure about drawing your own the “Spring Scenes” stamp set is perfect. There are so many options with this one set for perfect scenes every time.
I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink, on a piece of white cardstock. I used my Misti to position the stamps to fit. By using a stamping platform I was able to get the sentiment positioned and stamped. Then I cut it down to 1/2 inch wide and about 3 inches long, to finish it off I popped it up with foam tape and fishtailed the one end.
I used a black gel pen for the one puppy’s nose and eyes, and then cut out the bow from pattern paper after I stamped just that small section!
Hello Everyone! I need a card to send out this coming Saturday so I thought the sentiment from the Chickie Baby Stamp set by Sunny Studio would be perfect. “From one Chick to another” and it’s that time of year where some of us start to get a little spring fever!
I also wanted to bring in bright colors and spring paper so I am using pattern paper from the Spring Fling 6×6 paper pad also from Sunny Studio.
I couldn’t choose which papers to use so I am using a few and reaching for a card sketch. This is from one of the December 2019 SFL Flavor of the Month Card Sketches that you can download. Click Here if you want to check those out; you can click on downloads and see the drop down menu for different years.
I trimmed down my pattern paper following the sketch and stamped a scene onto watercolor paper. I chose Arteza Real Brush pens to color.
I wanted my sentiment on the scene and not as shown on the sketch so I brought in some ribbon. I also have to stop hoarding my enamel dots and decided to grab these white ones in a small, medium and large. To finish my card I used some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen on the 2 chicks and flowers.
Thanks So Much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy and get inspired!
