I decided to stamp out the adorable fair image from ‘Winter Fairies‘ and the little cottage from ‘Winter Fairy House‘ on a piece of white cardstock. I used my Mini MISTI for this to make sure I got a perfect stamp. Once my stamping was done, I grabbed some full sticky back post it notes and stamped each image. I cut these out with a pair of sharp scissors to use as masks.
I placed the masks directly over the images so they’d be protected when I moved on to my next step – ink blending! I grabbed a few of my trusty Distress Oxide ink pads (Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot) and got to blending. If you want to check out my technique for creating this background, I’ve got a video tutorial up for this card on my YouTube channel. You can watch it down below or HERE on YouTube.
After I did my ink blending, I used my Distress Sprayer to add some water droplets to the inked area. I let it sit for a little bit and then dabbed up the excess water with a clean paper towel. Then, I watered down some Opaque White Gesso and splattered it on my background to give it a snowy or starry effect. I set my background aside to dry.
I used my Spectrum Noir Classique alcohol markers to color up these adorable images and then trimmed my card front down to 4×5.25. I mounted it to a white A2 sized card base and that finished off my card! I wanted to hold off on adding a sentiment so that when the time comes, I can stamp the perfect one and have my card ready to go.
I hope you love today’s card – be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my post – I can’t wait to see you guys again later this month.
Hugs and love,
