Hello, it’s Stacy from CraftaholicMomma up today on the Scrapping for Less blog with an “other than a card” project for you today.
This project was not my original idea as I’ve seen it around on Pinterest and such. I just loved the idea! I though I “wood” make these for my daughters teachers, paras and classmates for Christmas. They make a very cute gift or stocking stuffer for a friendly cost.
I stamped the images from the MFT Sweater Weather in the Woods stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then colored the images with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. I read somewhere that they had better luck with no bleeding if they used their Spectrum Noirs. The COPIC Markers with the brush bibs tend to bleed on the wood. I think the key is to use a marker with a bullet nib. I guess the best thing to do is to sacrifice one of the wood slices and try out different markers on it and see which one works best for you.
The other cool thing about these wood slices is that they come already pre-sanded and pre-drilled with holes. Plus a big wad of rustic twine was included.
So if you’re looking for quick and easy gift try making these wood slice ornaments. Your recipients will love them!
Thanks for visiting,
