Hi crafters!!! I am here with another project for SFL using a stamp set called Our Story by My Favorite Things.
You know how I love scene building and, of course, coloring, but this time we are going to do things a little different. First, this will not be a one layer card. And second, we will be doing some simple coloring with just 2 color blends.
I started by stamping out all of my images and using only 2 colors to blend each image. This is how I learned to color with my Copics. Not only because I only had a very small collection at the time, but because I had NO idea what I was doing. By stamping out your images and cutting them out or die cutting THEN arranging them, you do not have to worry about cast shadows (where one object lays on top or in front of another). This helped me get the hang of all that shading. In time, I moved onto 3 and 4 color blends. But you can still get GREAT results from using just the 2.
Once my images were colored, I added a few accents with a gel pen, which also will help create additional highlights. I die cut them out and arranged them on my card panel. I added a Wonky Stitched Rectangle frame with foam tape and called this one done.
If coloring is intimidating, which I know it can be, try just using 2 colors. Once you master that, because I know you will, then move onto 3, then 4. I’d love to see what you create!!
Check out the video at the bottom for more information.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great 4th of July!!

This card is just adorable. I truly appreciate the detailed coloring, as I am trying to learn how to blend with the few copic markers that I have. It is so helpful to see what colors you put together as there are so many, I have no clue what to buy to blend together. Thanks so much for your video!
