I am so very excited to introduce to you Lucille aka (Luci). She has been a very long time Flavor of the Month subscriber and I have admired her work all along. I was also thrilled when she applied for the Design Team. So, sit back and I hope you will be inspired by Luci and her fabulous work!
She introduces herself with the following:
Hi, I’m Luci! I love crafting of all types but mostly I am making cards and crocheting. With family, job and life things can get kind of crazy! My escape has always been crafting!
Hi Everyone! So EXCITED to have my first post here at Scrapping for Less as a Design Team Member! Did you ever want something really badly but never thought it would happen? That's how I felt when I applied for the SFL design team and when I found out I was chosen I about fell off my chair! So yea, I'm little excited, anywho, I know onto the card...
I used one of the awesome collections from the Banana Split Level, Flavor of the Month kit. This kit just shouts I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! It's the One Year Anniversary of the kit! Can you believe it's already been a year?!
I decided I wanted to make a card with a little extra something the person could keep and use, so I thought a bookmark would be perfect! I used distress oxides and blended them onto the slider mechanism, the bookmark and the space that's left when the bookmark is removed. I even used them with a water brush to color the images!
I leave the insides of my cards blank usually, but I thought this went perfectly!
Don't you think the colors from the distressed oxides matched perfectly with the collection paper? Check them out at the Scrapping for Less Shop!
Check out my YouTube Channel and after the reveal, on Saturday I'll have a process video for this card including the slider part for the bookmark! It's super easy!
I also used a couple items from the additional pack you receive with the Banana Split level. There are some really SPECIAL items in the kit this month! It can sell out pretty fast but you can make sure you have one by subscribing just click HERE to get your subscription!
The distress oxides I used for blending were as follows...
Orange Marmalade
Broken China
Twisted Citron
Squeezed Lemonade
For the images I used...
Orange Marmalade
Broken China
Twisted Citron
Black Soot
Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo together
Hope you enjoyed the Sneak Peek and stay tuned the Blog Hop goes LIVE TONIGHT for most of us TOMORROW MORNING for the East Coast, Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Midnight (EST)!
Welcome to SFL, Luci! Your first card is wonderful with the idea of having a bookmark. All the colors look great. After studying your card carefully, I think I can imagine how the slider bookmark works, but I am looking forward to your first video showing us how you did that. Great job!
