Good Morning my Crafty Friends! Teresa here today to bring you an interview I had recently with Kelly Alvarez the owner of Lawn Fawn…so come in, sit down and learn all about this fabulous company we have grown to love of the last several years!
Q: What was the conception idea of Lawn Fawn? How was the idea born?
Mike, Erica, and I wanted to create cute stamping products that would make people smile!
Q: How did you decide on the name and the logo?
I’ve always loved deer, so my brother bought me a plastic light-up deer lawn ornament for my 21st birthday. I named him Francois the Lawn Fawn. Erica, Mike, and I met playing in the orchestra for musicals in college, and we used to put him in the orchestra pit for good luck. Since he was our good luck charm when we met, we thought it would be a fun name for our company!
Q: Lawn Fawn has some super cute designs in their stamps and dies. Who is the designer of all that cuteness?
Erica is our amazing illustrator. Her and I work together to come up with fun and cute ideas. She is the graphic designer, and I am the crafter. We joke that together we form one person!
Q: Where do the ideas come from for all that cuteness?
Erica and I chat about what we think would be cute, or we think about what would make us smile, and we create that. Our goal is always to bring happiness to people’s lives!
Q: How long does it take for a design to go from an idea to a stamp?
Sometimes it can take quite a while and sometimes it happens really quickly! We are always working months and months ahead at least!
Q: Lawn Fawn also has some awfully cute papers, I love the recently released plaid rainbow collection what is up Lawn Fawn’s sleeve for more cuteness for all those paper hoarders out there?
We have some pretty cute ideas for Fall and Winter! There just might be more plaid and something new up our sleeves, too!
Q: I am obsessed with Mermaids right now and “Mermaid for You” is my favorite Lawn Fawn Stamp set. What is your very favorite stamp set?
My favorite set is our first set, Critters in the ‘Burbs, because it has a special place in my heart. If I had to pick from current sets, I would choose Elphie Selfie!
Q: Does Lawn Fawn have a regular release schedule so our customers will know when to expect that little cuteness to come their way?
Yes, we do! Our releases are always right around the end of February, mid-May, end of August, and early to mid December!
Q: I know that Lawn Fawn has a brand new challenge blog “Lawnfanatics” can anyone join in the fun there? Do you have to have a blog to participate?
Yes, anyone can join in! You can even link to your Instagram, so you don’t need to have a blog!
NOTE: Here is a link to Lawn Fawn’s challenge blog.
Q: What is in store in the future for Lawn Fawn lovers? Anything new or different? But whatever all we ask is to just keep the cuteness coming!
We hope to continue to create cute and high quality products! We love hearing suggestions, so let us know what you would love to see!
Hope you have enjoyed today’s blog post! We will be featuring Lawn Fawn all month! Great products! Great company! Join us tomorrow for our Lawn Fawn blog hop!
